With the economy being as it is here in the US it seems as tho, from what ive seen, drug dealers are making pretty good money right now, may it be illegal, theyre the ones with jobs still. I started thinking about this when i was watching Shameless US. Theres this scene where a character dies and she leaves her kids with a pound of meth each. Which i thought was a pretty good idea cuz drugs dont really depreciate in value. Depending on the drug of course. Cannabis prices fluctuate depending on if ur state is legal or not. Benzodiazepines have increased in price due to strict doctors. Opioids have gotten cheaper only because the Herion/opium poppy trade died due to Fentanyl taking its place yet demand for these substances has done nothing but skyrocket Usually copanies have to update or upgrade their products for years for their customers…
Such an entitled, lazy generation
Why don't they get a job like everybody else instead of asking for handouts? s/
Every time I think about leaving I’ve got so much in my 401k already they’ll probably give me so much shit for leaving or make it hard to transfer to my new job. I work for a small private company where hr is the boss. Some time ago my ex coworker quit and she had to contact my boss to get her 401k info. My boss played it like she was busy and purposely took forever. I never thought anything of it until now that I actually want out.
i work at a grocery store that has a clothing department, evening shift, general recovery and customer service stuff. thing is, we dont get very many customers in the evening, so its mostly recovery, and recovery is boring as shit. i have anxiety. my anxiety flares up when i am doing something i dont want to do (work) in a place i dont want to be (work) for an amount of time i dont want to spend (10.5 hours including commute and breaks). my solution to this anxiety is podcasts, for some innoffensive background noise that can keep me grounded and pass the time quicker. this is not allowed at my job for safety reasons. i use them anyway for a bit, get caught thrice, and now i am just going to listen to the goddamn thing without headphones. so if youre shopping at a washington fred meyer and you…
i work for a small family owned automation company, where i work as a junior mechanical engineer. We provide automation solutions for food and pharma. Recently i was on site for project execution/installation during the nights because our client is a HUUUUUGE company that runs production during the day. So for 3 days i was on site on nights making sure my project was installed for a successful handover. After it was installed the first night, the last two nights were used for training as said company runs the sanitation (cleaning of the machine from two shifts, morning and afternoon, of production) during the night shift. The last night shift one of the sanitation crew from the company was mopping the floor and his broom stick as he was wiping backwards hit my pocket and my phone screen broke. I raised this issue with my boss and asked him if…
This is from something that happened today. I don’t get hit on a lot.. maybe 3-4 times in my entire life. I’m not that pretty, and I have 2 kids with me, and I’ve never taken off my wedding ring. So when I’m in the store and some smelly, obese slob covered in sweat says something gross to me, I’m not exactly flattered. And then when I ignore him I hear “good luck finding someone that WORKS HARD for a living” Who’s gonna tell him? That’s not hot. It’s like the exact opposite. You know what’s hot? When I hear 2 things- the rumble from the exhaust of my husbands BMW, and then when he comes in and sees our kids waiting for him and gives the biggest, most genuine smile he can. And then he comes over to me, I can still smell his cologne. And he’s in his…
I know the trouble some people are in and how they need to be employed to support themselves and possibly their family. I'm not in that position. I'm in the position that… I applied for a position .. they might not hire me because I have some charges on my background. I'm not a felon and itt's nothing violent, nothing fraud related but.. I've been rejected before. The job I am applying for… they're desperate. They bought a piece of software for $60k and paid consultants $300k over a year to unsuccessfully implement it. It's basically a raging bonfire they need someone to try to put out lol. The position I got hired for is to do that. I'd prefer to get this position but if .. honestly if they don't accept the few minor things I've done, fuck them… that bonfire can continue to burn. They want someone in…
When I went to clock in today my boss informed me I'd have to use a app to take a picture of my face in order to clock in. We had no warning about this and no opt out ability
“Ability to work weekends, sparingly”
What would you consider sparingly in this instance? A few times a year? A few times a month? Job I applied to said I’d have to work weekends sparingly but it’s usually once a month or twice a month (salary 9-5 position for context)
For years, my company has operated at bare bones where I work. At some point when I came aboard, they realized that the people working there for decades were going to leave soon. I presented my idea of spreading the knowledge around, mainly because fuck that noise I'm not doing it. Unfortunately, I'm the only person who can do a lot of the things right now. They gave me this “acting” title to be the “leader”, told the team to follow me, told me that everything runs through me. I found out this last week that there has been a lot of projects going on behind my back, lots of things coordinated without me, and that the job I applied for (team lead) is being given to someone else. I didn't find this out by being told one on one by my supervisor, I instead found this out by rockstar…
