I'm a full time employee at a hospital. Got a new job with the county emergency service and offered to stick around PRN (a few shifts a month) so they weren't shorthanded. When you go down to PRN you are not eligible for healthcare benefits or PTO. Most companies would pay you a little more hourly to compensate. Not my company. They graciously offered to reduce my pay by 15%. This same place offers a MAXIMUM 3% yearly raises. By that math, they are taking away 5 years of my hard work. Nty. Im out.

Yesterday after clocking out from my wfh job, I got an email letting me know I was terminated with no reason given. Since the beginning, the training I've gotten has been abysmal and I did try to advocate for better training but had my concerns minimized and brushed off. The training we got was basically like if you went to an algebra class and the teacher gave you ONLY the questions and answers, not teaching you how to work with the formula. They didn't teach me how to actually use the system or find answers on my own so I was having to ask a zillion questions a day. Eventually I got tired of constantly asking for help that may or may not actually be helpful, so I stopped asking repeatedly for help on the same issue. I don't have kids, or a wife and finally in years have a lot of free time after work….and the free time is giving me a panic attack. “Is this my life? Wake up, get ready for work, work for 9 hours, home, eat, entertainment, sleep, repeat” is my schedule for the last year. I have time to process what my life is… I cant quit my job and can barely afford the mortgage, I don't make enough to vacation, I can't risk going hiking and suffering a medical bill emergency, I'm not gonna retire, I'm exhausted after work mentally and emotionally. All this applied when I was working 10 plus hours a day, but I was so busy working I didn't have time to consider how miserable I was. I work at a private health club, and was just informed that the company I work for lost the contract for that facility as of 7/31. We were all only told today. They're offering hours at a different facility, but it still seems sketchy that they didn't tell us. As of right now, I've asked what hours are available and gotten no reply. This is very frustrating, so obligatory “I AM looking for a new job”.

The company I work for is struggling financially and it is rumored that the solution will be to have the highest payed employees (excluding the CEO, his wife who's the head of HR, their sons, and their friends) will no longer be w-2workers but 1099s moving forward. If this happens I will lose my health insurance, have unstable income, and be even more removed the company but still expected to perform my duties. I understand companies need to make money but I would rather be stressed from being over work than afraid to lose health care and not pay my bills. How do I professionally tell him no?

I moved across the country for this job with a friend. My friend is well known in the industry and his parents own a huge company in the industry. We do the same role, I do so much more work than he does, and I go to every single fucking work event I can to make people like me outside of work. After a month of grinding and feeling good and getting positive feedback from colleagues, I went into my one on one with my boss where I asked questions about the job at hand that showed my deeper understanding, then outlined what I’d been doing and what I plan to do to be proactive on my client accounts.
