One year at this job. Been burnt out for the last couple of months. Just got a job opportunity that’s in the direction of my career.. hopefully they pay well.. wish me luck
Absolutely ridiculous. I've done my job perfectly well. They even gave me a raise with more responsibilities, but I got s call after work on my son's birthday from them saying that we need to have a talk about how you treat us. They said “you could lose your job and your house if you don't shape up” How fucking bonkers is that
Hey all. Not sure if this is the best place to post but we're feeling stuck and figured you could at least point us in the right direction. June 24th was my lovely lady's last shift at the restaurant she served at for two years. She was bringing dirty dishes down the main staircase and tripped, twisting her ankle. Management told her to rest and ice; after 20 minutes she returned to work (of her own volition) because she didn't think it was hurt badly. She worked on it for 4 hours that night. When she got home she found it was much more swollen than she had realized. Over the course of the next two weeks we monitored her ankle and had it checked by a couple friends in the healthcare sector. It was certainly healing, but taking its time. Because she was working on her feet for her…
As the title says. My FMLA leave got approved by HR. Boss is not happy because this means being down another person for the next several weeks even though we’re already short staffed.
First of all, she didn't even know I was trans and didn't recognize me, even though I came out very publicly back in April. So that fucking sucks Second, she doubled down that her generation didn't have any easy jobs and still got paid minimum wage, despite the wage in 1980 (roughly the time period she is talking about) would be worth 11-12 dollars now, with every $1 worth $3.55 now. I already commented with the inflation calculator and some numbers, but I'll ask again, if anyone has any statistics, sources, and information that may convince her otherwise please let me know.
So two weeks ago I worked 50 hours on my time sheet. 40 were “working hours”, 2 were “summer hours “ and 8 were a personal day. I got paid Friday and it's just my base salary pay. So I emailed hr and asked about it. It turned out that if I take PTO, vacation days etc, if I work say 40 hours between Monday through Thursday and take Friday off and put in 8 hours of PTO. I don't get paid for 48 hours. I just get paid for 40 cause by law they don't have to count PTO, Sick time, or vacation days towards OT. Like I can understand that but they still deducted the PTO from my balance. Is this normal? I should also state that I work from home. So my company really only cares that the work is being done, not when.
Who keeps adding “Analyst” to job titles
I keep seeing these job ads with titles like “Service Desk Analyst”. Are these companies really that naïve in thinking people will fall for the title simply because “analyst” is tacked on? I assume they're not aware that there's a giant difference between being an Analyst versus being a Service Desk agent. And these places are wondering why no one is applying. Thoughts?
so i ended up at the hospital because, yay no insurance and america~ they did a test and i am positive for covid. this was today, sunday. saturday i went home early developing symptoms. sunday was when i had full-blown symptoms and the hospital said i can go back to work tuesday. i thought i had to quarantine for 5 days? will my job fire me if i call out wednesday if i still feel sick or have a fever? i made sure to get a copy of the positive test from the hospital and i texted it to my manager. he hasn't responded since i sent that image. all he did was change my day off from like, friday, to tuesday and monday. i'm confused, probably cuz the sickness, so if anyone could please explain that would be great. oh, i live in tennessee, before anyone asks.
