Tempted to quit my job today.
Hello everyone! I have been admittedly job hopping the last few months, finally landed something that I could see myself being happy with. I’m introverted, I like to work independently, and I like a set schedule… so I got a job as an admin assistant. But, here I am sitting in the office of the restaurant that I have been working at as a manager for the last few months. I absolutely hate it, and today was the nail in the coffin. My worst shifts are when I can’t help my servers and I’m everyone else BUT helping them. I had to buss tables, expo, host and somehow manage all at the same time. My big boss came in for lunch, without a warning, and the GM of our restaurant was so upset that I could properly visit with him, even after I told her that i was running around.…
Sorry for the long post but I had an interaction with management at my store i want to share with this sub. So I work for a big warehouse chain that's supposed to be worker friendly, well some of their stores are union so people think they're worker friendly but they are not. I work outside pushing carts, we do this in 80-90 degree weather and have to constantly ask management for water or they'll refuse to give it to us citing budget costs. There is animosity between the cart people and the managers. They never come out to help unless there are no carts left and people are complaining, even then they'll be outside helping for 10 mins before going back inside. Lately the tensions have been revolving around issues of phones and earbuds being used outside. We are pushing carts for 8hrs I don't think there is anything…
Press f to pay respects
I was let go from my last job in January of this year. I spent months looking for work, sent out hundreds of applications, and got nothing. About a month ago I finally got a job offer to work abroad in august. The job sucked. The salary was insulting. It’s not what I want to do. But a shit job that pays bills, is better than no job. A week ago I got another job offer abroad. This one is amazing. The salary is actually really good. It’s exactly the type of work I want to do. And it’s where I want to work. But now I have the problem of rejecting the first offer. I’ve already signed a contract with them. They’ve already sent me the visa required documents. But I don’t want it anymore. What do I do? P.s. Im not from the US, and the jobs are…
So I’ve been working as a tech support technician for the past year, this started as a Kickstarter opportunity to get my foot in the door to kickstart my career, within a month of starting I was already performing to the same standard as most of the senior guys on my team, since then I’ve also taken on domain and mail server management, become tech specialist for all the new toys we get and work a majority of the escalation cases we get where they need someone to sit down and put nearly all their focus on the more complicated issues, with a perfect performance record. So I’ve practically jumped up the ladder in terms of experience, yet I’m being paid the bare minimum and couldn’t argue that until my probation was over. unfortunately the last few months have been hell with major outages and servers going bang, alongside the…
I work for Publix. The schedules as you know for retail are all over the place. I finally got 2 days off in a row (which I never do) and got off Saturday in the afternoon (7-3pm). So I went “hey I’m gonna drive down 3 hours to my parents house in FL. And visit my family and grandma.” Then I get a missed call today at 1pm with a voicemail asking if I want to work from 2-10pm. On my 2 days off in a row! How about no! How about don’t call me on my days off. I didn’t even call back until almost 3. I’m enjoying my uncles beach house on the ocean. Take your 2-10pm and eat it. I know I’m ranting but this stuff makes me annoyed. The Publix I work at has some serious staffing issues right now because some people quit (and someone…
I'm currently looking for an oppotunity to WFH as a game code monkey but I don't have the means get company hiring infos/requirements etc. I'm planning to escape the 996-icu work style here in China and would like to give it a try to get a WFH position from some European game dev company.
