Hey all, apologies in advance if this is the wrong sub. I'm planning to leave my job this upcoming Friday with no notice (it's HEAVILY toxic, racist, misogynistic, and homophobic and I know my life would be made even more miserable should I give notice, so I'm not going to). Friday also happens to be the end of the pay period so my “last paycheck” will be automatically deposited that same day. I used all my accrued PTO but I'm negative about (24) hours of sick time. Under our PTO policy, I get (24) hours of paid sick time per year and (80) hours of general PTO. Under law, will I have to pay back that sick time once they find out I'm gone? I'm in CA for what it's worth.

I'm the GM of a pretty big brewery in my state, I have been busting my ass in this position with no support from owners, no AGM, no operations manager, just me. I was supposed to see a raise months ago, never heard back, was supposed to have an AGM now, nothing has been done. I've been run ragged working 10-12 hour shifts for the last few months now and finally have hit a wall. Put in my resignation knowing this place doesn't give a shit and finally feel relief. Never worked harder at a job for such shit pay where bartenders make almost the exact same money as I do. Just had to say it is a good feeling.

thought i might finally tell this story. i worked for a small (like 12 employees total) family run jewelry store for a year and a half. they paid $12/hr plus 10% of the total profit as commission off jewelry sales. this was some crazy good money as my second job at age 18/19. the place was terribly managed. they started training me to leave the sales floor and do repairs in the back to replace the person who was leaving for college, who they paid $15/hr since she didn’t make commission. still not great but whatever. about halfway through my training they decided to hire my brother instead, which is cool idc. however, the boss began taking advantage of the fact that i had repair knowledge, and kept sending me off the sales floor to do repairs. while still paying me the $12/hr, even though it was taking away from…

Here’s my last call for working in Target I went to work every time except the last week because I had covid. I also work part time only weekends. On the last day I told of my team leaders about it and this is how it went. [complete bitch post] I work in a warehouse and tonight our boss pulled us all to the side before we started to start cracking down on people having their phone on the floor, not even just checking it, like period. Says we’ll get fired instantly if caught with it. Says we don’t need to know what time it is for any reason until he tells us it’s time to go home. Shit, boring ass job, 11 hour shifts in 1 degree above freezing fridge and we were “living in the lap of luxury”. They’re determined to make this place as much like a prison as possible. Recently they even combined both departments lunch hour so the break room is massively overcrowded now which is great.
