Yesterday evening I received an email from my new boss. I start a new job next week For background I interviewed for this job weeks ago and there has been a huge lag (very big international company) between the interview and getting the official job offer. I have overseas holiday booked for Sept. As soon as I got the offer I immediately accepted and informed them of my holiday plans. That was 3 weeks ago nearly. So last night my boss emails me and basically says that my holidays do not suit the team but as I have already booked them they will just have to try work around them. What was the point of that? My mother, step father, and siblings live in the spokane Washington area and I live in pigeon forge tennessee. I haven't seen them in almost 2 years and missed 2 of my sisters highschool graduations. I already feel like a shit brother as it is so whenever i do get the chance to see them I take it non negotiable. I dont even get to see them on a yearly basis so these trips are extremely important to me. I put in the request off on july 1st (I fly out on the 20th) for 10 days. I’ve worked for this particular company for a little over a year now, but been in the industry I’m in for around 2.5 years and this is the 3rd company I’ve worked for in the industry. I’m a field engineer for a telecommunications company, my job requires me to stay away from home and work long hours, both of which are fine with me as it’s part of the job and I knew this going in and I actually enjoy my job. However the company I currently work for have absolutely no idea how to treat their employees. So for starters our work contracts state we work and get paid for 42.5 hours/week and we all had to sign waivers that state we will sometimes work over 48 hours in a week, which as stated above is fine. Hey y’all, I work as a government employee in a county in California. I received my paycheck today and noticed I was missing my holiday pay. We as county workers get paid for holidays. We use Kronos to put in our hours and our supervisors/managers make edits to our timecards. I noticed my holiday hours were changed from the default holiday hours to miscellaneous leave without pay. No one notified me about the change. Something similar like this happened to me recently with my hours being changed from sick leave paid (SLP) to miscellaneous leave without pay (MLW), when I had covid-19 and provided proof with tests. What do I do moving forward? I’ve spoke to management about this in the past and nothing came of it.

So I am a salaried supervisor who often gets call’s outside of normal work hours. Should I record the hours and document them the next day. I input my own time. Also what would you add for every call?
