You work in a kitchen to get away from customer service, but you're surrounded by some of the most vile people the whole time. You work at an office to be able to sit down, but never have time off to run around. You work as a cashier because you like people, but you're treated as a thing rather than a being. You don't have a degree yet so you can't get any fancy job, but you need a job to get through said degree. It makes you feel like shit. I'm currently in a position where if I leave at my scheduled time I'll be fired. But the coworker that showed up 1.5 hours late gets no consequences. It would be perfect if it wasn't for that and for the “you may not tell men who harass women in the store to go away rule”. Yes, I a cashier…

It is not the paradise that many American people imagine it to be. Working class people are very much so exploited in most places in Europe, not as much as in America but still… glorifying Europe is not the answer. While I would say generally working conditions are better here, at least in Ireland where I live it still doesn't change the fact that the working class is being ignored at best and oppressed at worst. I see a lot of memes about certain benefits European workers enjoy and they seem to be misunderstood or greatly exaggerated. I'm not here really to go into specifics as obviously different countries in Europe function differently, this is just a bit of a rant. We are still wage slaves, we are just treated a bit better. Don't glorify Europe, we can do better than that.

With how the market is keeping us on our toes, I'm tired of this shit man. I'm exhausted. My boss and coworkers are amazing, but without enough volume to make the monthly bonuses this job isn't worth the shit we deal with anymore. I only took this job for the money and now I'm having trouble finding opportunities outside of the industry because mortgage is such a specific set of skills. Anyone else feel me?

I work at a dry cleaners and I got super fucking burned on Tuesday, it hurts a lot and shit. I let my boss know the day after (he had left already to deliver route stuff and I was off an hour after the injury so I just went home.) it’s not healing super well and it hurts more when the steam hits it (I blow the shirts/jackets). Is there anything I should be doing? I know workers comp exists but I don’t really know what it is? I haven’t been to the doc, I’m double covered for insurance cause of my parents but I’ve just been ibuprofening and neosporining and covering it so there isn’t really any medical costs. Boss said he’d cover the exposed pipes but hasn’t don’t anything about it yet.

Hey guys, I used to work at a place that’s gone severely downhill in MA and practically stopped giving breaks even for 8+ hours shift (which to my understanding is illegal) and I want to report them to the labor board but I don’t know how as every form I find is about wages. If anyone has any idea, I would love the help. Thank you!
