Going to keep this general, because I'm still technically on the payroll. Been in my current position for 10 years, with the company for over 30. FYI this was not my chosen career- sort of fell into this job, and ended up selling myself out for good pay, steady work, full benefits and a pension. Good at what I do, but my heart's never been in it at all. A few years ago, my supervsor got sick of our manager and took a lateral transfer to another department. Once budget and HR signed off on filling the position, I of course put in for it. I had the most experience in my job, top score on the promotion exam for supervisor, great work record, great references. Instead of giving it to me, they gave the position (not the duties) to an employee from not just from another department, but another…
Thought I would tell the HR manager what he wanted to hear, I mean, does this sound right for a corporation that owns 30 restaurants?? https://preview.redd.it/hjuu8z6qq4691.png?width=594&format=png&auto=webp&s=50f892379d14677b3eef30484ca32f472b17b5a7
My SO and his brother are working on starting a security business while the brother goes to school for his Masters in Psychology. They got some backing from the school for a research project and we're getting an RV to move around and get more scope (way cheaper than hotels or anything else really, especially with two dogs). We quit our cooking jobs and I started an Etsy shop to try to sell my embroidery, and I already got an order! So fingers crossed, here we go!
Totally not glad to be going. Starting at a new place Monday where they have 16 people total working for them
It’s invasive and uncomfortable like no other. It’s also mind numbing. Data is being collected about our personal lives all the time.
I finally quit my job!! My boss is a total asshole and I don't get paid enough to deal with it. Although I'm sure no one from my work will see this, I'm gonna keep this as vague as possible. Some stuff had happened before I put my notice in, but this past weekend really did it for me. One day, my alarm never went off for work, I didn't wake up until hours after my shift started, so I called and said I was very sorry and my boss made a comment about how I was just getting up and what time it was. They asked if I would cover for someone since they called out, I could have said no, but of course I didn't, because I am nice and a people pleaser. When I went into work, they made another comment of “oh good morning” while it…
It’s about as intriguing as a cheesy show at the local theater. It’s briefly entertaining and easily forgettable.
Boss decided cause imma good worker I deserve more work while I’m already working 7days this week 6 every other50-60 hours I don’t understand why I’m being punished for his shitty work ethic
Any advice on what to do? They made us sign something that said it’s okay for them to do that but I don’t think that’s legal. Thinking about reporting them to the department of labor. I have copies of the employee handbook as well as text messages expressing my wish for them not to attempt this.
