I just need to vent. I found out on the “down low” that my boss is worried that her attitude is going to cause people to quit. So has she made any changes, no! Does she still micromanage and jump on people for making minor mistakes and harp on them. Absolutely. I work as a cat groomer and boarding care giver and just within the past month she has: Overbooked boarding, checked out the wrong cats with the wrong owners, continually doesn’t add groomer consults (even though she was the one that wanted these) double books the grooming schedule, decided to start groomer earlier WITHOUT consulting anyone, deleted time blocks for lunches, forgot to schedule people to work leaving us understaffed, but of course if we bring any of this up, she gets defensive and brings up the most minor screw ups. Like today she chewed us out because someone…
Been applying to every job possible. It's been a month since turning in my letter of resignation to an extremely toxic and abusive employer who insisted I was “one of the best” and “making a huge mistake” and that I would have a position if I ever came back. But since then I've been getting nothing but rejection letters from every level of position from qualified to over qualified. I might just be paranoid… but my last interview went great, they bumped me up to interviewing for two other open positions that were higher up in management because of my qualifications and how much they openly liked my personality and presence. Two days later they tell me they went with a more qualified candidate – that's great… but they interviewed me for literally three open positions and now I'm not a good fit for any because they went with someone…

Tip pooling question
I work as a server in a very high end restaurant. Tonight we pooled ~$120 in tips per person, but my manager distributed half to the kitchen despite the fact that back of house staff gets paid $20, whereas we don’t. We haven’t experienced this before, and are wondering if this is normal/legal.
I quit my job today with one day notice. Not really, though. I gave them over a month to give me a raise that had been promised to me when I first told them about the new job offer. I kept saying “The new job starts on this day. I need a raise before then.” They thought I was bluffing and got mad at me for DARING to get another job offer. Well, they told me I could go ahead and leave when I turned in my notice. Before I could leave though, the President of the company asked me why I was leaving as he heard troubling things about my department, and me leaving suddenly was VERY surprising. I told him everything. How my boss and her boss are best friends and make up policies that only benefit them. How my coworker (formerly a friend of mine) sucks at…
