If you hate your workplace, quit and find a new job This isn’t a “you lost, get over it” post. This is the truth and the best way for you to get back at those who’ve treated you like shit. The best way you can get back at your shitty boss or workplace is to: Find a friend who will be your “boss” and confirm only that you worked at X place from Y to Z date and left on good terms. Quit work with no notice. Fridays are best because it ruins your managers weekend. Find work at a better place. Just like you vote with your dollar, you empower with your time. I was recently working as a delivery driver for a Pizza Hut franchise in Nevada making 11 whole dollars before tips. In-store crew, or anyone working exclusively in-store for the day get’s $12. Someone ends up crashing into my car while on the job, & turns out my insurance doesn’t cover it, despite only ever being told that I needed collision coverage by said employer. That’s a diff story though. Lesson learned. So now, because I can’t drive my car, I get put in-store for the rest of my time there; 9 days. Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster in here. I guess I just really need to vent about this whole situation. I work as a floral designer in a major city. We do big events and everyday arrangements. When i was hired, I was honest that I had no prior work experience as a floral designer but was eager to learn bc it is a passion of mine and I’ve always been a creative person. They verbally offered me $16/hour and I accepted. After my first week, the assistant manager, the lady who hired me, pulled me into the office and told me that the manager and owner decided since i lack experience that they could only pay me $14.50/hour. I started looking for a new job at the end of last year. With the job market being as it currently is, I was days away from giving up hope that I’d find some place to treat me fairly. So I hopped on Craigslist, hoping I’d find SOMETHING to hold me over until I found the right place. I started working at a startup small machine shop as their first employee.
