I just got a doctor note to submit for sick leave. I work in healthcare and I have a permanent casual position that's still my home base unit but I'm currently working temporary contract in another department. I'm thinking of resigning from my temporary contract position and just going back to my casual permanent position. Can I still do that while on sick leave? Does anyone know
A job at McDonald’s feels like…
remembering the ‘good’ times
Thinking back about my old job when they offered me a raise and promotion to full-time but right after I accepted was told that I couldn't tell anybody. I worked in facilities and the guys and I were really close since it was just us three. The main guy they didn't want me to tell was quiting anyway. He was hired under the fulltime position but then was told it was a typo and was seasonal full time. (Didn't get full time benefits and would get a month off between seasons. This is at a theme park) he jumped through so many hoops to get full time. He was never offered it. I ended up telling me other coworker who was there for 5 years. I ended up getting paid 20 cents more than him. He recently got a raise of $2 but is still $14 an hour for full…
Hey everyone, just wondering if this is legal because it feels so wrong. I work part time as a pizza delivery driver, but end up calling out 1-2 times per week due to my disabilities (severe anxiety, migraines). I've tried to apply for disability but they denied me dispite a doctors letter and other proof. A lot of people quit a couple weeks ago because the university semester ended, so we're a bit short staffed. Last week I was having several intense panic attacks (obviously wasn't fit to be driving a vehicle for 8 hours) but couldn't find anyone to cover my shift. I told one of the shift managers I could not come in but couldn't find someone to cover and they said they would just use Doordashers. I leave my phone for a while and come back to a different manager saying if I do not come in…
This is what they don’t understand.
Everyone is okay with working or starving. No one is okay with working and starving. If I'm not gonna get good pay, benefits etc. I'd rather just hang out with my friends or play video games. Seems reasonable to me.

Got tricked into staying at a job
So this is my first post and honestly I don't know if it counts but here I go. So without giving away too many details, I work for a company that calls out and has people call in for the service we provide. I'm part of the team that calls out and my numbers haven't been the greatest but we've also been slow lately. Well since my numbers are low I was told that I could be moved to a different department where I don't have to worry about the numbers. Well sure enough, I took that opportunity because honestly I like my job and the people I work with. Well I wound up still doing the same job (until they hired someone to fill my position as it was kind of vital) for a bit until they found someone else. Came in two weeks ago and was told that…
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRLQPpNe/?k=1 This guy’s entire TikTok account is nothing but capitalism apologia. He says stuff like “Federal minimum wage is a problem” because businesses should be allowed to set their own wages and minimum wage isn’t supposed to be livable – meanwhile, he makes $100k as a UPS delivery driver. Typical libertarian “F*ck you I got mine” mindset.
I quit my job at the nursing home
I've been an LPN for about a year. Went to nursing school after taking care of my dad, dying of cancer. My first nursing job I earned a good reputation for clinical judgement and being good with families. I even trained a few new grads after about 6 months on the job. I felt like the man. I had (another) death in the family, and took a 2 month leave of absence. The stress of taking care 18, fully dependent people with advanced pathologies was starting to get to me. It was officially a resignation on good terms but they told me I could come back whenever I wanted. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago to visit, according to my boss they pulled in a team of real, experienced STNAs and not just randos off the street, regular staff nurses and not just agency people who just sling…
