I'm an ESL teacher, I work full-time and I'm also desperately trying to earn money for an elective surgery that will significantly improve my quality of life so I do side-gigs as a freelancer and stuff. My current responsibilities are: plan my lessons, teach my lessons, mark kids' work, do tests, mark tests, write report cards. Easy stuff. I've been working for my company for four years and I make about 65k in the local currency a month which is pretty much the high end of the scale unless you go to an elite, private school to work. I see an advert for becoming a Director of Studies/Line Manager which means becoming responsible for multiple schools (between 10 and 25 which on average 5 teachers per school), ensuring teacher training and development, developing course materials, mediating between teachers and administrators at their school and so on. And well, I do…
Boss Wants Women to Wear Diapers
I recently got my Private Investigator license and got contracted with an agency. Started training yesterday by going on a 7 hour ride along, so I had plenty of opportunity to ask questions. At one point I asked about restroom breaks, and my trainer told me the boss expects men to piss in bottles and women to wear adult diapers. I'm a guy so this isn't as bad for me, but I seriously feel for my coworkers who have to literally piss themselves. And what do I do when I have to take a shit? Also, my boss is a woman.
About a week about there was drama with our waitstaff. The store was pretty dead other than this but one of our servers came crying because her boyfriend told her he’d throw all her clothes out because she cheated. The girl was livid. She begged to leave work and come back but the bartender/manager wouldn’t let her because she said she needed to stay. They even confiscated her and another coworker’s phone because the boyfriend was calling both of them. She was threatened with being written up (we don’t do write ups) or outright terminated. Come to find out this week everyone involved got fired and one of the waitress’ boyfriends put in his 2 weeks notice. My last day is Wednesday and I could not be more excited to leave.
I've started a new job for a nice enough company but working within a wider sales department. Already my trainer has informed me she's banged at least two senior employees, one of which our small team deals with on the regular (clearly people know others are dating/fucking.) My first day I got feedback about how hot I was from the guys, and my most senior manager was flirtatious as fuck at my interview which I initially brushed off. I'm immediately reminded of my friend some years back who lasted two months in his former sales job (call center) and his main takeway was “they were all fucking each other.” I'm in new job territory btw, coming from local government.
I was thinking about leaving but read on reddit that people should always save their work in case of a sudden layoff or they get locked out for whatever reason, IT: can employers tell if I copy a file onto an eternal USB? Are there other things I should be aware of? We use a vpn/ external harddrive
