Needing some idle IT help
So, I joined this company in March 22, was sold a dream and within a matter of weeks saw how much this dream was a nightmare. Family issues, staff issues, I won’t go on. But! I have today had enough of the “silly girl” BS they keep pushing on me (I’m an office manager, with 10+ years of payroll experience and I’m a member of the CIPP), plus other things, and I’m done being pushed down. So, I need help. The director is fairly IT savvy, and I want to be able to use a browser without them seeing it through their domain. Incognito won’t cut it, and it needs to run parallel to my usual Windows OS, so can’t be portable linux. Any suggestions would be welcome. They’ve been told I don’t feel appreciated, and happy to provide my resignation. I have got a secondary job I can work…
Antiwork on Big pharma?
What is the general take on Big pharma. I see antiwork criticize many different branches, but never Big pharma. When I saw the last post with a statement fromRussel Brand, the post and the opinion that Russel had were not attacked, but only his opinion on Big pharma (him being critical of their motives and pointing out their wrongdoing). I struggle to see how unilaterally approving of everything Big pharma does and cutting to shreds anyone who criticizes it serves antiwork. Can someone help me out here?
The clue is in the name
They call the department “Human Resources” Resources are meant to be used/exploited/replaced. You are not family and you do not need to be loyal. The company views you as a consumable
Since it’s 50% of Americans I think a lot of us dissociate it most of the time to survive but I just got in a spiral this morning about how vulnerable I truly am and how there’s no formal help for me if any number of things go wrong. I’m also disabled so that’s a fun layer. The panic and existential dread are ROARING if I let them come to the surface even for a minute. I don’t wanna live like this.
Intern has to pay to work
Sus right?
Ok. This is a part time job and a side gig. I’m not saying that because I don’t take it seriously, I’m just giving some background information. 2 minutes late last time I had a shift. I didn’t waste a second and got to work. My coworker writes about this in a note to the boss. Apparently that’s what they instruct people to do. I think this is terrible for morale.
Mentally signed off for a 5 day birthday weekend, how shall I kill time at work today?
