This place is a shit show. Since I started 4 months ago, 5 people have quit, one of which was a walkout. I had zero training, do the work of 3 people (I calculated, because I was tired of being the only one doing anything and wanted to prove a point), and I almost walked out myself when I was yelled at by two of the office bullies for taking my lunch break at a time that wasn’t convenient to them. Through all of this I hav told my manager all of the issues, pointed out the concerns, and she just keeps saying “stick with me through it, you can do it.” And makes excuses about working on it. She is going to be a bit blindsided when I turn in my two weeks notice, since I’ve been trying to be more positive with her as I know the office…
It’s the “Return to Office” Demon.
I work part time for Walmart, and had a 5 hour shift today making my normal rate and no more. If I missed the shift or called out I would have been marked for two occurrences instead of one, and it’s considered a “key event day” but that apparently isn’t worth compensating employees for working on a national holiday.
Going into work tomorrow…
No matter what job I’ve had, no matter the benefits, the idea that I’m obligated to go in has always depressed me and is a huge drag. That is all.
Who says I wanna go back?
4th of July bullshit
So I work at Wendy’s and had to work tonight which I was bummed about since I’d miss the fireworks, I did end up getting to see the fireworks as I ran away from the building with nothing but my phone. A customer got mad that we ran out of tomatoes and pulled a gun. He went out to his car to get it while my manager tried to lock the doors, in the end she wasn’t fast enough, I ran out the back which set off the alarm and I’m pretty sure that’s what scared him off. No one died, but he hasn’t been caught. This isn’t even the first time this has happened. I’m so fucking sick of this job
Leave Accrual Help
So I’m not too sure who to come to this so here I am. I’ve been working in aged care for over a year now, I was going to take 4 weeks off and go on holidays after my 1 year there but I was surprised to find I only have 3 weeks of leave entitlement. This is in Australia btw where you’re supposed to have 4 weeks of leave per year of work. I haven’t taken any time off, only when I’ve been sick which should’ve been around 3-4 days total over the year. I went through my payslips to find out what was going on, and to my surprise we haven’t been accruing leave for public holidays and for education days during ordinary working hours. As you can imagine with Covid and working in health care there have been quite a few education days over the year. I…
Note: No way this man could hold a job also he lives 45 miles from the store, gas alone would eat up his paycheck. Also – A new travel center just opened up in town that has hired 250 full time employees starting at $16-$18 per hour with full benefits. I'm guessing some used to work at Walmart.
