I opened my LinkedIn app just because. Not sure what I was expecting. Just seeing what people are up to. Shelby is an assistant marketing director with Mojo. Kyle is a senior financial analyst at FB&A. Ryan is a Net Lease Broker at blank Retail group. The list goes on… Account executive. Business development analyst. Human resource project specialist. Audit senior assistant. People systems analyst specialist executive assistant to the regional manager. 🤮🤮🤮 Never in a million years would I ever want to do any job that includes any of these words in the job title. It just sounds… boringly terrible? I understand that work is work. But this is just such a major turn off for me idk. I am struggling to make a life for myself. I can’t find a career to pursue. Some things sound interesting, anything involving creative thinking/making, but most things/job titles make me want…
Classism against smokers in this sub
This is an issue that needs to be addressed. Take a look at this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/usaf3f/granted_i_shouldnt_have_admitted_to_it_but_really/?sort=top The main complaint against smokers is that they really really stink. This is an old form of bigotry applied to the poor: that they're smelly and unwashed. I even dated the daughter of a Beverly Hills millionaire when I was in college. Even though I was from a poor background, I was very academically accomplished and a go getter, so was socially admissible. She would worry that poor people would be smelly and bring the topic up in a rather snobby way when going into non-millionaire areas. As to tobacco smoke, they invented this new product called Febreeze, in case you haven't heard. It works. Tobacco smoke is not some malign spirit that lingers in the area until an exorcism is performed, as some people obsessed with smoke seem to think (though they don't…
If you are so incensed that “no one wants to work anymore”, I have bad news. It's your fault. You have priced us out of being happy. We will never own anything, we will never work enough, and our toil will never end until we are in the ground. If I have to choose between not working and having nothing or working and still having nothing, the choice is easy. Go fuck yourself.
I don't see where this misunderstanding comes from. if you want your people to spend more money. then they need money to spend. its hard for a lot of americans who are living pay-check to pay-check to be able to afford more consumer goods when they literally don't have the money to spend. How can companies complain about making less money when they provide poverty wages? now, i'm sure there is more to it but this must be a large part.
I called out from work today…
I was feeling like crap and went back and forth as to whether I should suck it up and go in, but I was sick and exhausted, so after careful contemplation, I called off. I even looked at the schedule and made sure that they were going to be fine before I pulled the trigger. I’m not used to taking care of myself or calling in. I went to work one time straight after being discharged from the hospital…But the last couple of years have shown me, that this industry will suck you dry if you let it…and it supports and encourages burnout even tho they’ve had every opportunity to change the way it operates. A co-worker of mine called me (I picked up like a dummy) not to check on me, but to chastise me for not coming in. They don’t do shit while I’m there, so she probably…
