I've been lurking this site because I'm trying to find a better job and always find fascinating your stories because at least from my experience in my country we don't really have many problems with interviews or job requirements or benefits. We do have a great salary problem with many people living on minimum wage and the median class getting fucked over because most state benefits are for people classified as poor even when some of them have a few houses or businesses. i mean i've spent a month looking for work and i gotta say the page designs on these shits are shit, the search interface is shit, the ai finding you jobs to apply for in an email is shit. jesus who fucking designed these sites?

I think large corporations are unethical and treat workers unfairly but that’s makes them more money which makes them good investments and hard not to take positions in. Maybe crypto will fix this i don’t know.

So in January, one of our senior members told us that leaves are not the right of employees. Employees can apply for leaves but it is up to them if they approve the leaves or not. So in March my mental health got so bad I decided to isolate myself and work from home. And now on April 2 we had a national festival and everyone applied for it. Apparently they got scared cause of my mental health situation they approved the leave for everyone. And yesterday we had to listen to that senior member tell us he did a big favor on all of us giving us a day off.

I live in a small, semi-rural town in Wisconsin where one of the largest employers for high school students is the local walmart. I started working there last November, and quit about 3 weeks ago. I wanted to post on here right away but I also didn’t want to just sound spiteful so I gave myself some time to cool off. The first two months were not bad. I had decent hours, worked with people I know from school, and kept my distance from management because honestly I was baked the entire first month (I quit smoking mid-December). How bad of a state is America's workforce in, when I just put in a time-off request for 2 days next week to attend a childhood friend's funeral out-of-state, and my first thought was “If this doesn't get approved then I quit”? That thought shouldn't even be crossing my mind!

Started for a large company and turned up on time for the induction/first day. Yet they call everyone's name out and I'm not on the list. Every board room we went to, I was pencilled on at the bottom. Nobody was expecting me. Then they sit me in on safety regulations training for a certain department despite them not knowing what job I was actually going to be doing. Turns out it was a waste of 3 hours as I'm not even in that department. Then I get to reception where I'm supposed to be greeted by my team leader who takes another guy and forgets me.
