Just putting this here to rant ! My once understanding boss has become totally toxic towards me. It all started when I mentioned that my scheduled bonus was 2 months late; I sent four emails before approaching her in person about this; no response so I asked in person. Ever since I approached her in person she has called me out in meetings and blamed me for issues that are out of my hand. 3 months ago I submitted a PTO request for next month. No response here either. Then I had to submit FMLA paperwork and a reasonable accommodation request for my disability ( I have seizures so sometimes it is advised I should not drive … I requested to WFH on those days and my job can be done remote) and have not received a response either !!! I feel like I’m being discriminated against but I have…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Institute_for_Free_Labor_Development The American Institute for Free Labor Development (AIFLD) was established in late 1961 by the AFL–CIO in the western hemisphere. It received funding from the US government, mostly through USAID (United States Agency for International Development). In the 1980s, it began receiving funds from the NED (National Endowment for Democracy), which is funded through the USAID budget of the U.S. State Department. AIFLD was merged with three similar organizations into the American Center for International Labor Solidarity. Contents American Center for International Labor Solidarity (1997) Edit In October 1995, John Sweeney succeeded Thomas R. Donahue as President of the AFL–CIO. Sweeney merged AIFLD with three other institutes to form the American Center for International Labor Solidarity. The archives of the merged center are available at the University of Maryland Special Collections and University Archives.[1] That may not mean that much to you, but these guys were US proxies against…

I didnt submit my sick leave yet and planning on not to since i did work and i didnt get any rest. Im back at work still feeling sick. This is also a government job. What can i do?

Never Be Loyal to a Company
I don't post quite often so I apologize for the formatting. TL;DR at the bottom for those who want the short story as this will be a long post. I worked at a relatively large company for a year (I won't name them). When I started, it was a decent job for me. I was making $17.00 an hour at the time and for me, that was good. I finally stepped into a full-time position where I was getting benefits, and I also got PTO. It was my first step into a full-time role. Unfortunately, a few months later they eliminated the position I was in. The company assured us that we would still have jobs if we chose to stay with them. I decided to stay with the company as it worked well for my schedule (I work full-time and go to school part-time). I was given a really…
After taking a break off work due to medical reasons, I reflected a bit on my experience as a worker and came to the ultimate conclusion that there is massive gaslighting when it comes to bosses and higher ups. I know the word gaslighting gets thrown around, but this is seriously the only word I can think of when reflecting on all my jobs. Bosses interrogate you like a cop if you take a few bathroom breaks. Bosses try to guilt you into working more hours, even after explaining several times you cannot take more hours. Bosses allow bullying at work and throw it under the rug. Honestly, work just feels like I'm on the edge of being humiliated and punished. I'm not looking forward to going back.
Antiwork thoughts in my classroom
I’m in my final semester of nursing school. My classmates and I are in our mid to late 20’s. The class we are taking right now is called leadership and transition into the workplace, which is supposed to teach us about working in a professional nursing setting. So yesterday, my older professor was talking about unions and if they’re necessary or not. This guy in the back is like “with all the bad things that are going on, who wouldn’t want to be part of a union?” She looked taken aback Then my professor talks about how travel nurses are making an obscene amount of money and since hospitals are employing them to make up for the nursing shortage, non-travel hospital nurses are unable to get raises. She literally said “travel nurses are taking money from the hospital” as if they’re stealing. So hospital nurses end up leaving to become…
