The Federal Reserve is coercing businesses to enact a hiring freeze in order to break wages, and if business don't comply and continue hiring, the Federal Reserve will continue to hike interest rates. This is brutal class warfare and we must join the fight or perish. I over heard my manager this morning talking on the phone about next weeks shift and that they were asking people to come in on their days off. I have Wednesday and Thursday off next week. So I remembered a text my wife sent me about cabin rentals at the state park a while back. So I called them and paid for the cabin rather than reserve it. No longer than two minutes after my confirmation receipt was emailed, I was asked to work. And smiled and told them I was surprising my wife with a get away and proceeded to show her the receipt. The look on her face when she seen the date of purchase was almost as good as my wife's face when I got home and told her of our camping trip next week. Not going to lie. Patting myself on the back for this one
I have worked for a very popular coffee company for almost 7 years. I have always been a great employee overall. I have always busted my ass every shift, picked up others’ slack, and put 110% into everything I do there. I have dealt with severe understaffing, crazy busy days where I didn’t even get breaks.. and I have always been treated fairly well until recently. I started to have a lot of physical health problems in December 2021. These rolled over into 2022, and caused me to miss some shifts here and there. This is when I started to have issues with my job.
