Lazy coworker gets away with everything and I’m chewed out for small mistakes

Anyone else have this coworker that’s even lazier than you yet they never seem to get in trouble or held accountable for their actions yet you get chewed out for every little mistake? I put in the bare minimum and try to do my best, she does even less. I have to send her invoices for approval and set up daily reminders. I even tried ccing her boss on them but the worst that’s happened is an invoice I needed by the end of the month sitting for A MONTH. the average time she takes to approve is two weeks yet every time I attempt to bring it up to my boss she also complains yet her boss won’t discipline her for it. Meanwhile if I make a minor mistake I’m always chewed out for it. This (bitch) is starting to make my job very difficult yet I’m afraid to…

Fuck shopping small

I have worked for small business my whole life it’s not till I experienced tragedy that I realized that these small businesses make us pay more outta pocket while leveraging community support but when you a member of the “family” need support they will put your right out in the cold. This week has been the hardest week of my life in just one day I went from home owner to homeless. My house was partially destroyed by a local tragedy I have spent the last week on the phone with insurance company’s and meeting with contractors and while I am one of the lucky ones my employer truly showed there true self’s. I didn’t asked to be payed wages while I was out that I accepted but telling my clients I’m out sick was crossing a line. My family started me and my family a GoFundMe and when they…

Performance Evaluations

I utterly loathe them; it's like filling out a job application for the job I already have ever year. If I'm not doing a good job in my position, then please discuss this with me. If I'm doing a satisfactory-exceptional job, please compensate me accordingly and dispense with this tortuous ritual that literally no one enjoys.

Could we do without managers? They seem mostly unnecessary, but what do you think?

Title. To me they are only there because a business assumes the workers can't organize the place themselves. I say humans are pretty smart and can figure out how to manage a place when they are organized, but I want to see what people here think. EDIT: Shout out to the good managers out there who empower the employees! This isn't about the good ones.

anyone feel like they’re supposed to be happy and grateful they have their job but feels stressed out and sad all the time?

this new job i have is what some people in my field wish to have, I know it’s a lot better than my last job but i still feel so stressed out and have so much anxiety about it, and there’s just like a bunch of factors making me stressed and I feel like I should be so grateful since it’s a good job/ i get to work from home now/ it’s “easier” than my last job, but idk… I think this job micromanages more and it makes me more stressed out and I feel like some people aren’t understanding. and like other factors as well. I feel like I actually stress dream about failing or doing something wrong in this job a lot too… Its ridiculous bc my friends are so chill about this job so it makes me feel stupid that I’m stressing about it.

Try to short me $70,000? I’ll take Millions

DISCLAIMER: The names and some of the situations have been changed to protect the identities, but the dollars and general nature of the situation is completely true. BACKGROUND: A year out of school in the early-1990's, I procured a job as a business analyst for a large, family-owned tech company. This business was located in the booming heart of technology at the time and was very profitable. As tech took off over the next decade, the company thrived and remained family-owned. What was a rich family and company became exceedingly wealthy with a valuation/net worth in the high 9/low 10-figures. The family that owned it was quite neurotic, very moody and had a reputation as very ruthless (greedy) when it came to financing, deal-making, employees, etc. I truly believe this is what held them back from ultimately becoming a household name as a company. As I progressed in the company,…
