Feeling really demotivated at work

Dear fellow Redditors, I'm working as a kindergarten teacher since three years now, I'm really working my ass off, usually I work from 07:00-18:00 and in the weekends as well without any over time payment. I didn't get any bonus or higher salary throughout the years, despite the high inflation here. Last year I got a new colleague who has less qualifications than me (I'm a certified teacher, he isn't). This guy doesn't seem to bother about doing anything helpful at work and works just

Company I just quit will pay minimum wage on my last paycheck. Anything I can do to stop this?

As the title says, I will be getting paid minimum wage on my final paycheck. I signed a paper agreeing to this when I was hired, but I've seen people say here that it may not be legal. I work in the state of Ohio. I know pay rate can change at any time per our state laws, but not for hours already worked, as I understand. I know it was wrong to walk out, but I could not take that place another minute. The environment is extremely toxic, and it was having an impact on my mental well being. We are told we aren't allowed to discuss our wages, which is illegal, but it is supposed to ensure we don't find out people working the same job are paid different rates. Higher pay is not given to more experienced, or even more capable, employees. It seems to be given…

New team members with no experience brought on to be trained as ‘specialists’ by me and getting paid more than me straight away for the same job.

I accidentally found this out today. I have been with the company a little under a year. We are all paid hourly as we are technically freelance. The company has brought on 2 new young women with no experience as part of the 'Women in technology' campaign they adhere to (our job is non technology related so this confuses me….) to help young women make their way up the corporate ladder from day one. So I have been training them up for the last month and spending all my day multitasking with training them and doing my day to day job. I was looking up my shifts today on admin and noticed the new employees are labelled as 'specialists'whilst I am labelled as 'skilled' and are on £2 an hour more than me… I don't consider myself to be paid well at all but I have been working 15 years…

Corporations Paying Politicians

First off, I apologize if this post is too political or off-topic for this sub. I was just thinking about how big of an influence large corporations paying off political parties and individual politicians has had in America. Off the top of my head, what I consider to be three of the USA’s biggest issues are in part caused by this: healthcare, climate change (specifically environmentally friendly energy) and worker’s rights. In each case, large corporations or industries are paying off politicians to take their side on these issues, meaning no real change is made. Clearly politicians aren’t going to pass laws preventing them from getting paid by companies, so shouldn’t the masses be rioting to make this behavior illegal? I acknowledge that I am nowhere near an expert on this topic and if anyone has an explanation as to why this issue is more complicated than this, feel free…

Give below your 50%. Even lower is better if it doesn’t get you fired.

I have been working/ Studying at my current company (College) for 8+ years (On/off). I always left because of better opportunities ( that didn't work) out or for better pay. I was always told that If you attain higher education your salary will be increased to match the certification. But right when I did finish my diploma they pulled us all into a meeting and told us that “actually we do not count certificates as grounds for a higher salary”. Right after this I texted the Head of Administration (since I naively thought he was my friend, as we did shit together that close friends would always do) about why my pay is still below that of other admins 3 years after rejoining. I found out through a mail (payroll) that was accidentally sent through the mail to everyone. I noticed his salary was increased thrice in 2 years that…
