I work for a company that claims to be super progressive and gives us lots of great perks. Most of them are meaningless and most employees would rather just get paid more but I digress. Two weekends ago I had my wedding we did everything possible to defend against COVID. Everyone was vaxxed and boosted everyone took a test before coming to the events. Still COVID broke out and by Tuesday ppl started testing positive. My wife and I tested negative on Monday night, but once we got to Jamaica early Tuesday we felt worse than just a hangover and tested positive. We had a 4 day nightmare in paradise, but eventually tested negative and got to enjoy a few days. When I discussed with my supervisor while I was in quarantine and he approved that I could use sick days for when I was sick not vacation days. I…
Daycare+COVID
So hello! I recently put in my notice for the childcare center I worked for. My notice was until next week but I have since been exposed to positive cases of covid and am following CDC and department of health guidelines of staying home for the 5 days. I am considered unvaccinated because I having gotten my booster yet. I started to show some symptoms shortly after finding out but tested negative. Long story short, I told the workplace that I don't want to risk anyone getting sick, especially the children, by coming back to finish my notice. My boss is now threatening to report me to the local educational center which could prohibit me from continuing my career in education. They also tried to get me to come into work this week disregarding what CDC says which is to stay home for 5 days regardless of vaccination status. Told…
I’m 24 and I’ve been working in this Job for almost 1.5 yeas now and it’s literally killing me bit by bit. To make it easy to understand i’ll sum up the disadvantages: There is a great risk on my life: During any of my work activities i could definitely die , because i’m dealing with bulk toxic chemicals. (Three incidents happened in the past i could’ve lost my life in them). 2.Shift work. (I just hate it) Over time: it seems that it will never end, i’ve been working 12 hours shifts day and night not counting commute which takes around 1.5 hours one way for the past 6 months now. 4.Not knowing when the company will call you for urgent work. Even though i’m a shift worker they still call!! And theres no option, just drop everything in hand and head to work. There is no way that…

A medical decision?
I’ve been looking for a new Job, and most in my area require a Covid Vaccination. I’ve had Covid twice (mild), but I’m more afraid of the vaccine more than catching Covid again because of the side effects young males my age are getting. Asked doctor if they recommended it, and she said I didn’t need it. Feel like I have to cave in, I mean is it fair to require a vaccine in order to work (I know it’s legal)?
Do you think people who are paid commission and make their own schedules would produce an equal if not more amount of workload? What would be your comments or concerns?
I laughing here, I joined this company 7 months ago , they sold me big dreams and was promises many things that fit my career goal. Once I'm there, I find all sort of problems they refuse to fix. 1- No product owner and no Jira ticket : the client send you 15 pages document with what he wants , no criteria ,no template nothing. 2 – very poor CI/CD policy they hired someone from another country who doesn't speak our first or second language , just because he's cheap, the guy is a devops guy and has no knowledge of programming or our stack, includes him in daily meeting where we speak a different language than him, and ask him to deploy when someone has something which is once every 3 days and treat him poorly. Another issue is our code is erased , we have different environment so…
This is tough to watch
VP stealing my product
I’m so incredibly demoralized, angry, sad, all the things. I have an all star team we put together a product and delivered it from idea to implementation in under 2 mos. At the last stage gates we just found out that my team is being blocked from launching. Another VP outside of my area heard about the product and is taking over the product rebranding as theirs and launching it. My Manager shrugged their shoulders and said the other VP felt strongly about it. Never have I ever…..
