After several years of working shitty jobs where I would be fired when health or family events needed me to take time off I realized that worrying over being fired was pointless. No matter what at least in American businesses your a at will hire meaning at any time you can be disposed of with or without reason so why worry, relax and work until your fired or don't work at all.

I have a grocery store right across the street from my apartment. It's super convenient and I love being able to walk to get my groceries. However, this place is begging for workers at only $1.25 above minimum wage, in the second largest city in my state. McDonald's is paying better than they are. The low wage and poor working conditions are revolting, but I also don't want to take a ten minute drive on the highway to hit up Fred Meyers, which pays only marginally better. Does anybody know of any companies who print business cards designed to encourage people to unionize? Or have any nice templates so I can get them printed myself? Obviously if you designed the template yourself then I would compensate you for its use. I would love to drop these on store shelves once or twice a week whenever I go to get groceries.…

Today, I got a text. For a possible interview, you guessed it for today with possibility of hiring today. Anyways, the responsibilities where everywhere. For example: 24/7 on call, supervising employees, administrative duties, budget management, pay roll, applying for funding from the government, managing and planning day to day operations, Human resources (interviewing and and training employees), etc. The pay was almost adequate but no quite there. Plus I have experience with everything except payroll and budget management. The ready for hiring today was a red flag for me. I had to decline respectfully. I felt it would be too much for little pay. It was gonna be salary not hourly, so that's another thing.
