I would just like a better understanding of this sub. Currently the only impression I have is from the news interview, and memes mocking the members of antiwork, although I feel it would be better to hear from you guys.
I work at a high tech startup. I was talking with my therapist the other day and she strongly advised me to look for a different job because how toxic/abusive my boss is. I just started there after a work gap being a stay at home mom but I’m divorced now and need an income. He’s a good shmoozer with the higher ups so he’s not going anywhere, I don’t think it will be productive to involve HR. I had a previous experience at a (large) tech company where they blatantly told me my job wouldn’t be available after I returned from maternity leave (because now that I’d be a mom I’d be too busy to do a proper job working nights weekends etc) and it really opened my eyes that HR doesn’t care and is only there to protect the company legally.
