Basically, AI has already begun to take jobs and will continue at a faster rate as it becomes more advanced. This will put a lot of people out of work, which could potentially be good for the antiwork movement, as more people would resonate with the message of not wanting or even being able to work. Additionally, this would create an abundance of cheap, machine labor, which could increase the supply of many food or health products. However, with cheap labor, we would either be out of work or forced into poor labor conditions ourselves. Hypothetically, this could also be good for the antiwork movement, as it would force many to petition vehemently for a universal basic income. However, this may further the divide between the rich and poor, as the rich will have exponentially more labor than they do now. I've thought about this a bit myself and am…
Hopefully you’re here too because you hate working and you don’t want to work But you need to pay your bills and be part of the rat race for now. This sub opened your eyes a bit – seeing the countless experiences of others who are just as stuck in this stupid system. The wheel starts turning and you want to make a change. So you start interviewing, and looking for something better Where are you at in this journey? I’m on stage four of an interview process – nervous, but excited. Company has fantastic benefits and is fully remote. I’m drinking the kool aid and wearing a festive Hawaiian shirt for this next panel interview to let the team know what they’re in for if they hire me. Current company isn’t a terrible place – I’ve learned a lot, but boss man is a penny pincher and I’m fucking…
I’ve worked for my current employer since November 2019. It’s a retail job at a liquor store, and for the most part it’s been a great job. Starting late summer 2021, I started having issues with my personal life, mainly due to depression and anxiety thanks to Covid and the fear of getting it and giving it to my mother who has COPD. On September 11, 2021, my assistant manager at the time came to work after unsuccessfully trying to find somewhere that would give his daughter a Covid test. I asked my manager why he was there, and he told me that he couldn’t do anything until she has a positive Covid test. This freaked me out. Both my manager and assistant manager are anti vax and big fans of Alex Jones, so obviously his opinions of Covid did not line up with mine. The assistant manager never bothered…
I stayed for slightly under 3 years at my first job and current job coming to 2.5 years. Due to various reasons, I am unhappy and overworked with more work planned in the pipeline. I have a very attractive job offer sitting on my lap now. My future boss seems great to work with too. My aunt however was asking what job prospect was my mum worried about because I never stayed >5 years 🙁
I've been searching for healthcare jobs since I have phlebotomy experience. There seem to be a LOT of places hurting for staff right now, and I've been inundated on Indeed with inquiries from recruiters from various staffing companies. I got a weird looking one in my Indeed inbox that didn't list the pay, and I was already irritated, so I replied with some snark asking why pay wasn't listed. I absolutely never could have predicted what happened next. I got a few messages that didn't quite make sense, including one that mentioned not using BCC and there being a reply all thread. I thought this meant I had accidentally connected with multiple employees of the staffing company, so I made fun of them for having bad tech. Then, I realized. The people I was talking to aren't with the staffing company, they are OTHER APPLICANTS the company was spamming. And…
The level of control these micro managing freaks want to have over people is truly evil. Managing people's toilet breaks or telling them they can't take time off for funerals is psychologically evil. These people would have happily pushed their neighbors into concentration camps.
