I inform my manager of my pregnancy by mail. No answer. 3 days later, I receive a mail of congratulations, followed by an invite to a meeting to talk about my performance and to do an evaluation. In the same mail. How to prepare ? Advice please.

This used to be my favorite job and I was so happy with what I was doing, and I was good at it. Lately the management changed and I feel like my new manager just cares about work and not people. I know other teammates are feeling it too but they don’t communicate that ( maybe that’s professionalism idk). Now my new manager is quite rude, and I had several encounters with them that I feel like they kept pushing me to do something without recognizing my limited capabilities or the complexity of the work. I’m in the US, so all people from all over are welcome, but the states, especially Ohio . About 80% if not more of our industry in the USAis owned by a handful of massive corporations. Just curious how much you love this so we can be better employees for them, ahem. We all have common links to these same big corporations nationwide. So we are neighbors from afar if you will.

In 2020 I received a windfall of around $100,000. I invested and set money aside to live on if I happened to lose my job. That same year I opened my own business, and in the end we had to shut down in 2022 because Covid destroyed our business model. I have money to live off of, but obviously I don't want to do that. My boss is 5 feet away from me and can look and see what I'm doing or hear what I ask my coworkers. I forgot something simple and asked my coworker for help and my boss chuckled saying. “You shouldn't be asking that at this stage(I'm 2 months new)” well fuck you for me trying to ask for help!
