Hello everyone, I had a recruiter reach out to me on LinkedIn and I ended up applying for the job. I did a phone interview, they told me I would hear back in a week. It is the next day and I received an email asking if I could do a virtual interview in a couple of days. The job I'm at now is not bad and I would be leaving for a little bit more of a raise not much but the benefits are excellent. If I get the job I would be going from: 1 vacation week, 1 sick week, basic insurance, 6 paid holidays, 5% 401K match to 3 vacation weeks, 2 sick weeks, 3 personal days, better insurance, 11 paid holidays, and 6% 401K match. The only thing is I feel kind of guilty because my boss asked for a 3-4 month notice. I thought that…
Also I despise my bosses and am at the end of my rope. What to do I’m so miserable hahahahahajja
Hi Friends, I'm Borg70, and I post regularly over on Pillar 7, https://www.reddit.com/r/pillar7/ which is dedicated to exposing the horrific conditions and worker abuse inside United Wholesale Mortgage, a company owned by noted fail son and chronic sex abuser employer, Mat Ishbia. It's fair to say UWM and I are not friends. Over the last few months, with the assistance of my co-workers, the public, and UWM alumni, we have exposed sex abusers, bullies, misogynists and other such ilk inside UWM. They tried to hack me about a month ago, and have a crew of stans to downvote my posts. My goal is to bring as much attention as possible to UWM's culture of toxicity and provide my colleagues with a smile or two. Recently, UWM announced UWM Live!, (May 12) which essential an ego event for Mat AND Tony Robbins. Yes, that Tony Robbins.https://www.eventbrite.com/e/uwm-live-registration-253163878977?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=uwm_live_22 Since it was announced, we've…
Long story short, I'm underpaid for what I do and have been forced to do other department's work with no raise or anything. This is a boring paperwork job and I made it clear I want to get back into IT (I was in IT for 5 years before this job) by applying to an IT job here and getting caught a couple times job searching. The signs I'm seeing is my boss is giving me less work, and there's this colleague from another department getting trained in front of me to do my job. I figured i will either quit when I find a better job, or I'll get fired. Hence the mini dance party in my head lol. Okay I mostly wanted to vent. Anyone else in a similar situation?
For starters, I've been in the military, a bartender, and working on a CDL. I've also ran small businesses as my own boss as my job trajectory has never seen eye to eye with standard americano work culture, and what blows my mind is how we, U.S.ians, are hypocritical as hell when it comes to our work culture. Big business owners lie, cheat, and steal to get ahead. They will say they want workers whom embody their ethics, but as soon as a worker demands a raise, wants a promotion, or does something which isnt to the company's immediate benefit, bosses lose their shit. I once heard Mark Cuban chastize a Shark Tank contestant over them “stealing” their boss's clients by saying that he couldnt risk going into business with the contestant for fear of the same thing; when in reality, that is exactly what Marky did to his first…
Ever since I started working at the age of 16 I've absolutely dreaded going to work. I've worked all kinds of jobs; grocery stores, sales floors, manual labor, customer service, etc. I never enjoyed any of it. I always was looking for ways to make work more enjoyable. Because of that issue I never stuck around for very long at any job. I would go from job to job just hoping I would get lucky and enjoy it. That was the routine until 2020 hit. I started dealing with serious medical issues about a month before covid took over. I did not work at all for the majority of 2020. Once I was able to start working again I was determined to change my circumstances. I was not going back to a job I hated. I have a deep interest in computers and technology. I've always been fascinated by it…
For some context im a freelance artist. Ive been told its rude to ask colleagues how much they make. Ive also found out that some artists pretend to be clients and ask other artists how much they charge for a certain project. Its so passive agressive and hypocritical to do that imo. Why not just have a transparent conversation to get an idea how much (more or less..not exactly)fellow artists charge in a community.
