I’m not sure if this is the right place but perhaps there’s someone out there that will enjoy the dramatic retelling of my worst interview ever. (Obligatory on mobile) I just recently finished my undergrad degree and so I started job hunting looking for my first “big girl” job. I have a degree in psychology and so I am really interested in working in social services/mental health type jobs. On a whim, I applied to the local office of this national organization that has done a lot of great work in my community. Research, access to mental health services – they had a lot of different departments. I honestly wasn’t expecting to hear anything back from them – I just apply anywhere even if I’m under qualified. So when they did call me back wanting an interview I was super excited! I was planning on moving out of my parents…
Got ghosted by company.
Title pretty much. My friend works for one of the biggest companies in my field. We talked and they said how the company is desperate for help. I apply and get a call a day later. We talked and it went great, pretty much got the job from the sounds of it. It would require me to move so I asked when I would need to start as I would like to start saving as much as possible. They said they would get back to me in a few days. Week goes by, nothing. So I send an email. And then I call. I've called 5 times and sent 4 emails and nothing. Yeah, and it's us who have a working problem.
Like I have not heard anything back from any of the jobs I have been applying for except maybe once for rejection and another time they emailed me that they were interested but then never ever replied back to anything Seems like I have to go the self employed route. Also it seems like a lot of jobs are not matching with the rapid inflation so I might actually make more money being self employed. Tired of jobs not answering back
I am a Amazon employee who recently contracted COVID. I called the employee help line to report this and the person helping me told me I would get paid for the shifts I had for a week. I got paid today and found my check was very short. Upon calling them back I found out that apparently I was given the wrong information and Amazon does not cover COVID Pay for their employees. So I had to stay home from work and not get paid despite mounting bills. Now I have to get “reactivated” before I can go back to start to work on the large hole their policies have put me in. They often preach so much about how they care about us and I am now being opened to the truth.
I work for a third party company that remodels big chain stores. Two nights ago was my unexpected last shift on my current project. I was working two hours overtime (which I will no longer be getting paid overtime wages for because they did not allow me to finish out my forty hour work week), and I started to experience an anxiety attack. I am diagnosed with severe anxiety which I do take medication for. I was not able to take my medication on time because I was not able to leave work until three hours past the end of my shift. I travel for work and am not given a car, so after the attack I had to wait outside for an hour until the rest of the team was allowed to leave. When I felt it start to happen, I went to the bathroom in the back of…

I currently work as a county lifeguard in the Atlanta area. The base pay was 12 an hour. If you were certified to teach swim lessons, the base pay was 13 an hour and instructor pay was 20 an hour. It used to be 9 an hour from the years 2016 to 2020 and 15 an hour as an instructor. Not bad when your only responsibility is to watch water, and teaching kids how to swim for 20 an hour was already incredible. But, no one was applying (even at 13 base and 20 an hour instructor pay) because the job is painfully boring. A lot of people were even resigning. There’s rarely any excitement, and there’s not many ways to keep your mind occupied. Staffing got bad. Our bosses had to communicate with other supervisors at different pools to decide who was going to pick up shifts to fill…
