This is my opinion.
Only rich people should have kids. Parents should need to be able to support their children their entire lives. I didn't want to have to be born into this world to have to work my life away. I never had kids, because I know they would feel that way too. I blame my parents, they wanted a fucking kid for who knows what reason. I wasted my entire childhood going to school, and the rest of my life working. If you don't like work either, please think of the kids, and don't have any.
What is your purpose in life now?
We now have to learn to define our lives where work is no longer the center and no longer defines our identity and self-worth. What is your purpose in life now?
I work at a hotel. The job itself is easy, the pay is mediocre at best (doesn’t even cover my rent most months. I make more money delivering food but keep this job because it’s generally easy-going and the owners are awesome. There’s only one employee in the building per shift (because we don’t really need more to answer phones and do check-ins). But the CUSTOMERS are the absolute worst part of the job, without question. This is a busy season where I am especially with traveling volleyball and dance teams. They’ve been in and out for the past month or so and will be for the next few months. In short, they’re mean. Ridiculously mean. I’ve been sitting here getting screamed at, spit on, and degraded every shift. I can’t take it anymore. So my question is this: what happens if I just… walk out during my shift? I…
r/fuckcars is a subreddit dedicated to bringing awareness to how shitty commuting and cars are. They promote things like better public trans, improving infrastructure in more creative ways than “AdD mOrE laNeS To DA hiways,” etc. and they have an awesome plot on r/place It's the r/fuckcars logo with a giant parking lot full of empty cars as the background. they've also built highways congested with cars all over r/place (with permission/alliances with other builders). the whole thing is hugely impressive, to be honest. I figured a lot of people here would like to know about it. They have the best stuff on r/place , imo. they also have a discord channel. there's a link in their subs FAQ. https://preview.redd.it/514ei33dg7r81.png?width=1635&format=png&auto=webp&s=589e06cbdff30935083fea68f91e3d919794d53d
So I had an interview scheduled on Friday. I spent time preparing for it that I could have used for finding other jobs, so I am a bit annoyed. The hiring manager cancelled an hour before saying that the position was fulfilled. It was quite discouraging to have it cancelled an hour before. Is this normal? Or is the company just unprofessional?
I'm working on getting disability and I cannot find anyone who will hire someone for 8 hours a week within a reasonable distance. It's so frustrating because I have things I need to pay for but if I make too much or work too much I have to start this whole 9 month process over again. Not to mention the US doesn't take mental disabilities like Bipolar disorder seriously so chances are I'm going to have to go to court over this. My therapist says that I'm a shoe in after the fact, but I'm so nervous and money troubles are getting to me stress wise. Sorry, just venting, I guess.
I work for a large library system in Canada as a Public Service Assistant (I'm those people behind the front desk who help you find that book about dinosaurs you've been wanting to read). I was working the front desk today when my Supervisor (one tier right below the Branch Head) pulled me into the staff workroom. Supervisor is in charge of making sure all our staffing hours work with each other (no gaps in the staffing schedule, etc.), then Branch Head signs off on it. Supervisor mentioned that Branch Head scheduled me to work extra hours from 12:30 to 8:30 on the 13th. Supervisor: “Did she ask you to work these hours?” Me: “No, she never asked if I could work those hours.” “Are you able to work those hours?” “No, sorry, I won't be able to.” “Oh okay, I will remove where it says you will work extra…
