I mean, isn't it obvious? Since 2008 the elite class and their media have been dividing us through social issues so we wouldn't unite by class and protest and fight for our wages and workers rights. So now that BLM is losing steam and the “great resignation” is changing the power balance between employers and employees in US market, oh what a great coincidence! Now they decide to divide the working class again with abortion this time, so we go out to protest this and forget what we were doing. Abortion will now take the media coverage for months, workers will stop paying attention to the creation of unions and will stop debating about how slow the wages are increasing when the “free market” balance is now for the employees. I'm not American, I'm Spanish, in my country they use other subjects to distract us from class war, normally the…

Because they're a “secure” organisation, work won't let me print off anything at home due to it being work related and “confidential” information of their inner workings. Problem is there's tons and tons of documents to look at in order to know how to do your job and you get sick of looking at a screen all day that you can minimally edit or highlight or write notes on Anyone ever had an issue like this? Any work arounds that won't trigger security systems and the like? There's some rules that are common sense, but then there's rules which are downright stupid if you want your workers to be actually informed about their own job.

Unpaid shift, advice?
This is asking for any advice on course of action. I started a job with a local ice cream shop, they told me I have to do a training shift before I can work alone. I went and it turned out to he a full 8 hour shift. After a week of working I noticed I was only paid for 2 days of work out of the 3 I did. I assumed since I was paid on sundays and worked friday through sunday that week that he didn't pay me for the shift I hadn't finished yet. After another week I asked if I could start being paid for the shift I was working on sunday as well, after some talking and clearing up confusion they told me training was unpaid and it was a normal thing in “the industry”. The next week I let him know I was quitting…

Do you think that it’s possible one day far from today, post boomer generation?
Not the usual thing you see on here but…
Wanted to bring some positivity here. I work for an enormous company (think Fortune 150) with 100k+ employees. My supervisor and boss told me when I let them know my son might be born early that “your health and the health of your wife and son are more important than quarterly reports”. I’m taking 6 weeks of fully paid paternity leave (in US so that’s actually pretty good for here as sad as that is) and they are totally fine with it. I’m super lucky to have the bosses I do and I appreciate it. I wish everyone had my kind of bosses, and there’s no reason they shouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I think everyone should get fully paid months and months of leave when having a baby and it should be universal but to support my family I’ll take what I can get I guess.
This was many years ago but I have never stopped hating the company and I’ve continued to dislike my old boss with a passion. I had started this job and found out I was pregnant. I got an abortion over the weekend in training and came to work like nothing was going on. I started to not like my boss in training and got disciplined for doodling during training, it would go on to emotionally be taxing ignoring peoples problems and persisting that the pay their checking accounts when their mortgage is due so doodling and being allowed to relax somewhat would’ve been better as a corporate environment. Oddly enough we did have a meeting where a coworker not in our training class would come to say how proud and enthusiastic about the company she was and how supportive the company was of gay people. Then some bankers came and…
