Full-time is not full-time
Had an interview for a full-time salaried position (9-5:30 – 37.5 hours) and was told “if you're expecting to leave at 5:30 then this job isn't for you.” Seriously?? Fuck you. How's about you advertise the real fucking hours required for the role then? Like, I get it, there's projects and deadlines and sometimes you'll need to work past your designated hours to get shit done. I have absolutely no issue with that. But IMO, this should be an exception or during crunch time, not the norm when offering a full-time role. You're advertising a 37.5 hours a week position, and I'd be signing a contract for a 37.5 hours a week position. So if you're telling me that I'll be expected to work more than that on a regular basis, what I'm hearing is that you are expecting me to also to do additional labour for free. My issue…
Need a PhD to work for free….
I already knew about planned obsolescence. But I didn't realize just how bad it was. Instead of working towards a future, where we don't have to work our asses just replacing the stuff. We could have actually worked towards creating things that would last lifetimes. It's all basically just a pointless fucking cycle meant to enrich the wealthy and keep us dependent on them. We could have clothes that last a lifetime, but instead we make them out of cheap materials with sweatshop workers, and literal child slave labor. Lightbulbs were on a trend to last years. There is a lightbulb from long ago that has been burning for more than a million hours. It's pretty famous, it was in a firehouse. It's a tourist attraction now. But basically a lightbulb cartel formed, out of the major lightbulb companies. And they conspired to lower the lifespan of lightbulbs. So people…
Fuck this shitty company and every other slave-wage dumbass-boomer-led record-profits-but-sorry-no-raises piece of fucking ass dogshit corporation in this country and on this planet.
