A coworker of mine is teaching her 4th grade class with a sick 13 mo th old strapped to her chest. She was reprimanded for missing too much time this year due to her children's illnesses and a death in the family. Luckily today was a half day and so is tomorrow which is also our last day of school.

Posting from the U.S.: About 4 months ago I accepted a position through a temp agency that paid 16 dollars an hour. My job, as originally described in the interview, was as a crematory operator with minimal amounts of computer work involved – “data entry, ten minutes here and there”. The minimal amount of computer work actually turned out to be part time office work; calling funeral homes and extensive sensitive data entry. I actually have a dual monitor setup and my own desk/cubicle that I need to do the job, plus I had to learn excel. Anyway. I started working in his company on December 2021, the job description didn't said anything about WFH. Everyone was doing home office since covid started 2 years ago, when I started working here they were coming to the office to teach me and all that stuff, then after 1.2 months some people got covid and everyone got sent to their home to WFH including me, but after 3 months big boss decided she wanted everyone back to the office, I spend 4 hours a day and half of the shit pay they give me just to come and eat here, so I stared searching to options closer to home, and my girlfriend stared working in a company that allowed her to do WFH completely for some months because of her situation, and she tells me this seems like a really cool company, so I send them my CV, got a…

My boss volunteered me for an assignment I was not available for, for the last time. I have disliked this company since I started here 9 months ago. 100% billable hours, no overtime just straight time. My PTO was also to be used for my sick time and vacation time and the 7 holidays that are “mandatory” to use PTO for. One time she took hours off of my timesheet. Because of the billable policy I was required to take 8 hours PTO twice, on days that I was in the office doing non-billable work. I never even accomplished anything there. Just did menial tasks which I was assigned. I felt so empty and like I have so much more potential. I wish that it wasn't this way but without leaving your comfort zone comes no growth. So here I am uncomfortable and ready for another opportunity.

Kind of a depressing realization.

The main reason I am in sales is so I can curse like a sailor all day long. It’s what everyone does.
