I have an update. Since that day, it went from not being allowed to wear it above my chin to not being allowed to wear it at all. Well, I have a coworker who is perfectly fine with me wearing my mask, so I wore it today. Unfortunately, my boss came in and saw me with the mask on. She kept telling me to take it off. I refused. So now she's going to write me up because of it. She said when she comes in tomorrow it (the mask) better be off. It won't be. I'm standing my damn ground this time. If she's going to fire me over a mask, then so be it. It's my job or my health, and I will choose my health any day. There are a couple other jobs in my hometown, and while they don't pay as much, I'm sure they won't…
I’m burned out and don’t see a way out.
Marked NSFW due to mentions of sexual harassment, albeit brief. Hello, I (21F) have been working since the age of twelve. My parents forced me to get a job at twelve at a day care. There are a number of reasons that this is or should be illegal, but I was in a “unique” situation. I had to take care of ten children that were otherwise unsupervised, most of whom I did not share a language in common with. Because these were children left during work hours, I was taking care of them from 8am-5pm Mon-Fri. Pay was the equivalent of $7/hr. That job finished just before I started 8th grade, and once I was in school I was expected to also take care of the eight foster dogs we had at the time, in addition to five other dogs in the neighborhood. I was being paid significantly for…

I just changed jobs to a startup warehouse because I was moving but I did the “right” thing and gave a 2 week notice to the company I was working for which ended up costing me a better position at my new place of work. Instead of coming in as a supervisor I am working as a clerk and hoping there is room for movement (we'll see how long I can wait) because the supervisors started 2 weeks earlier than everyone else which would mean I'd not be able to give any notice to my previous employer. This got me thinking, if we're supposed to give a 2 week notice when quitting why should employers not be expected to do the same when they fire someone?
If I’m not mistaken this is illegal in the US?? While in the checkout line my cashier, a young woman prob late teens early 20s, said to a senior employee, prob dept or floor manager, “hey I decided not to sign the paper we got about opting out of taking our 30 min break and I’m on a 6 hour shift today so I just wanted you to know so you can send me.” So the manager says “oh you had to sign it so idk.” And then the manager walked away. I told the cashier that that sounded really shady and that it had to be some sort of labor law violation. I said good for you for not signing that stupid shit and that she should take any break she’s entitled to. My question is who should I report this to? I am in Maine and have worked…
Holy s*** i hate this job
So I’m sick currently and at the doctors. I won’t go into detail about the sickness but I told my manager I was sick yesterday and getting a doctor note today. And now I heard from a family friend that knows her that I might be getting fired for it. What do they want me to do? Puke on every customer?
