What do I do? He came in and tried to argue and yell at me in front of my managers and the customers will I lose my job for this?
Please prove me wrong. All the posts about organizing general strike in may seem to be gone. I know you can't. The fear of homelessness and starvation are a strong motivator.
is it time?
I’m 26 and I work in the film/TV industry at a mid-sized management firm (for my Bojack fans out there, I have something really similar to Princess Caroline’s job). I’ve been at this current company of mine for about 10 months now. This is my first job back in the industry post-COVID. I was at my first job out of college for about a year and a half before they folded mid-pandemic. I love my direct bosses and all but the HR at my company is fucked beyond repair. Around 4 months in I realized how grossly underpaid I was in comparison to others with my same title at competing firms. I’m at least $25k underpaid as it stands. When I got this job last slring I was getting desperate to get back in the industry, but I was also really excited for the opportunity as I love working with…
As someone who has been going to therapy and prescribed meds previously I have came to a conclusion that “mental health” as people call it is a serious problem to any leftist movement. “Mental health” professionals argue from authority that anyone who isn't doing well do to society's faults. Anyone in these fields are bascilly mental police officers, police function to defend the rights of capital(see harassing homeless people because white bitches hate them) a therapist is the same thing they say “I agree with the problems but you are the wrong one.” Any leftist worth anything should be aganist the big lie of mental illness(which only exist to drug people) and social security(literally funding poltical enemies).
It was never my intention to do so, but due to the toxic environment, I will be leaving my professional job on bad terms. Can anyone share their stories if this happened to them? Is it really a death to the career if it’s your first professional job?
This is why Ohio is not….great.
A new law exempts Ohio employers from paying overtime for travel to work, checking emails after hours or listening to voicemail. And that's not all. https://www.lancastereaglegazette.com/story/business/finance/2022/04/13/how-ohios-new-rules-overtime-pay-impact-your-paychecks/9514188002/
I worked at a place called “Canadian Tire” in a little white-trash, podunk town in Canada. I was 16 when I started and 18 when I quit. During this time, an old man came in regularly to shop and bother us cashiers. This old man, probably 65 years old, said the following, plus so much more, to me during my time there: My first day, asked me if the carpets matched the drapes (relating to my bleached blonde hair). Then, when I didn’t respond, said “Aw come on, you’re supposed to be embarrassed by a horny old man.” Told my male coworker that “My ass is so bouncy, he just imagines grabbing it every time I turn around.” He then motioned in a ‘bouncing’ motion towards me, and winked. These are the two examples that stick in my mind, as I was SIXTEEN YEARS OLD. He also slapped my ass…
You will never really move up internally until you're about 15 years in and all you can do is gain skills and prove you can work somewhere for 3 to 4 years at a time. Once you've hit about three or four years move on to the next job. Always punch up. I'm a little over 10 years in the machine work I just got a dream job I punched up the entire time and now I'm doing great. Right now I'm making microchips and pretty soon I'm going to be working with robotics. You can make your way from the bottom to the top but you got a job hop f*** everybody
