I work at a company who’s been boasting about record profits and blah blah blah. Long story short, I got a new job that pays me $30k more a year. My current company asked me to stay while only offering me $7k more a year. I simply asked my boss to tell me why I would leave $23k on the table to keep working there. He said “because we like you here”. You like me? Pay me. In all seriousness, this sub has taught me to value myself more by exposing the corporate greed workers are kept under. So thank you for allowing me to confidently give myself a raise.
This is getting really sad now
Anyone here had a gay boss?

Best way to quit a shitty job

Company has been shitty to me and other workers, pays barely anything and acts like we owe it a favour for employing us. What's the best way to hand in my notice? Bonus points for something memorable I can do on my last day

And they do all kinds of stuff. Or did anyways. Apparently they fired every worker there. “For stealing.” Anyways. My stepdad dropped my name to come in and weld some stuff for them. Because it was an emergency…. because they fired the welder of course. Seriously. This place has been around for 30 years. And they fired everyone. Now they got the owner, the owner's brother in law, and owner's girlfriend. The kicker is the owner's brother in law is working 100 plus hours a week! So they payed me 78 dollars for about 3 hours work that day. Then they invited me to come “work” for them. I have worked for 3…
