It’s weird to have work Facebook groups
I’ve seen a few posts on here talking about work Facebook groups. I think it’s super weird. I’ve always just been added to a group text or email. Making it a group feels too public, even tho it’s probably a private group. Also, what kind of legal authority does that give your employer in regards to your personal use of social media now that social media has been integrated into the workplace? Like if you use your personal phone for work sometimes they have a right to search it. Is this similar? Just a thought I’m having this morning
I experienced a typical scenario that I can imagine the people here can relate with at least once in their life: Worked my ass off for 1.5 years, asked for a review and more money, they shit on my performance by nit picking small things and ignoring major successes, and then they declined the raise. So I then spent the 6 months that followed looking for a new job. And boy did I make some mistakes! At least two that I can recall. 1) I got a job interview and offer for 5k more than I currently make and I didn't accept it because it wasn't 10k more than I currently make. I should've just accepted to get out of the shitty environment I was in. and, 2) I spent far too long limiting myself to specific job titles like “Project Manager” and “Production Manager,” because those are what my…
Boss took away my PTO
I been working for this company for a year and then I asked for a 2 dollar raise and 2 weeks PTO he said yes then 2 months later he sits me down and says we don’t do PTO here and that I’ll probably take more then 2 weeks off out of the year and that we don’t do hand outs. What can I say to fight and get my PTO back
So I took up a job recently out of necessity at a kroger store in Colorado (king soopers) and I'm already not sitting well with how things are done here. I have seen one of the two night managers clock out for lunch and then continue to work. Confronted him about it and he basically had this attitude of “this is just how it is and it isnt worth fighting” during to the fact that the night crew is so understaffed that its impossible to get stuff done otherwise. Everyone else on the night crew seems to be the type that are too afraid for their jobs to have a spine also about this type of thing. This type of illegal garbage bothers me to no end and I guess I'm just curious as to what others would do in this situation. I should clarify I personally have not been…
