I find it absolutely hilarious that in 2022, people are still being graded on phone calls/emails. We arent robots, the customer aka the other human wants a human interaction. The fact that companies still quiver or shake that someone might not call someone by there name is hilarious. Did the solution get settled? yes, was customer happy? yes. Did the company lose money? no. then who cares about a damn script. praying for a society collaspe soon. I cant believe the world in 2020 halted and we are still trying to back to the “land before time” Give me a break
UK – homophobia on the workplace
Hi everyone! I work in the hospitality industry in Scotland and I have had several issues whilst working for a restaurant. A chef previously sexually harassed a colleague of mine; he was reported and I gave a written statement to support the affected coworker. Despite this, he has not been fired. And today, I came out as a lesbian to my colleagues, him included. I didn’t think that I would have received nothing but support, but this was not the case. The chef started saying that gay people are disgusting, particularly gay men. He said that regardless of the gender, homosexuality is a vice of the flesh that he did not agree with. Other comments and very private questions about my sexual life were raised and I felt so uncomfortable that I had a panic attack. My question is: who should I be speaking to in order to take serious…
CRM Spying?
Won’t bore you with the why but if I download a report from a CRM software thru a VPN, would that be logged and accounted for?
Basically the title. I know you have to sit down for 60 mins afterwards with an “expert” to go over the results but has anything happened as a result of it for you? It’s a privacy-invasive piece of shit assessment and I just finished one. Kind of regret answering as honestly as I did.
The more a position pays, the less of a percentage that position should increase pay. No business should pay their hard working laborers depreciating wages so its paper pushing suits can feed their money addiction. Just because laborers don’t know how to run a company doesn’t mean that company can work without them. Try driving a monster truck without wheels.
I know a lot of people are being asked to return to offices after working from home during the pandemic. I think that an appeal could be made towards employers patriotism. The less oil the world consumes the less demand there will be for Russian oil. Just figure WFH should be justified in as many ways as possible. If patriotism does it for some employers then great!
Payroll problems and venting.
Omfg I'm livid. So new owners at my company took over a year ago. First 3 months they couldn't get everyone's tax rate correct. I went from paying about 350 a month to 450 in federal. I tried multiple times to get it straightened out no avail. Fine. Whatever. At least it comes back at end of year right? Fast forward 8 months. After multiple missed days of PTO on my check (schedule a vacation only to not get paid for the time off because they were too lazy to input it), last pay period was a day late because the payroll lady was sick and didn't show up. This weeks check is less $250.18 for “Payroll correction”. I asked what it was about, i was told Family Medical Leave act taxes. I said no. Since January you've charged me 0.6% of gross pay as required. I've googled my FMLA…
Recruiter stalking?
Has anyone had a recruiter find their current employers phone number and call them at their office without having ever having talked to said recruiter? What if my boss had answered and he mentioned he was a recruiter looking for me? What the hell is that about? Shameless.
I have not heard of this sort of thing and did not know it was legal. I live in a state with no income tax and any friend or family or neighbor I’ve known to commute across state lines or work remotely full time has been charged state tax based on where they reside, not where the company resides. I can not physically drive or even fly to work everyday in order to make my shift if they asked. I will never step foot in their state for work, and this was never mentioned in the interview process. Outside of the taxation without representation/me thinking this is literal theft blah blah, I suddenly have to come to terms that my offering salary is now thousands less than I thought because of how much they will be taking out. Is this actually legal? This is common place and there is no…
