We make casual small talk at work to customers while we’re serving them. This guy said he was from a place with a beautiful lake. My cowrker said “nice do you like to swim there”. The douche said “no too many Mexicans” lmao we immediately kicked him out 🤣
So I just went through a period where my seasonal job ended, and I kept applying for lots of jobs and interviewing for lots of jobs, and three separate jobs got me to the point where I was just tidying up the final paperwork to do my first days and then they just dropped me. So I was under a lot of stress. So then I went to this one interview and I was very honest, and she seemingly was as well telling me the union initiation fee, and that my necessary minimum hours per week to pay my bills was completely doable. First and second week immediately showed both counts were alive, and she just wasn't an approachable friendly person like she made herself out to be. And I'm just mad cuz I'm thinking about all these interviews that I've done full of lying and manipulation and all the…

Mid-year Review – “peer reviews”
Working in a white collar work environment, and our management is asking for “a list of stakeholders and peers who can provide feedback on your work.” Here’s the deal: Nowhere in the HR materials does it say peer reviews are part of the review process There’s invariably one asshole who they’ll get input from who will throw you under the bus (usually the person who doesn’t know what they’re doing but thinks you’re the problem) The review will mostly be based on the person from #2, ignoring the great input from everyone else I’ve never been asked for feedback on anyone, especially my managers Thoughts? Anyone else deal with similar situations? (If I were the CEO, I’d end performance reviews in a heartbeat)

I'm a 911 dispatcher(full time job) I hardly make $29,000/year. I'm barley scraping by even with the help of my significant others (SO) income which is 3 times more than what I make. And I now have to door dash on the side to make extra cash so I can get the things that I need. My SO and I split the bills and with everything rising, so is our mortgage, lights, gas, and water. So my $600/month towards house bills is about to be a lot more. I can't make it anymore with just my one salary, even with the tons of mandatory overtime I have to do because of my dispatching job. And yes, I'm applying for other, higher paying jobs, but I haven't heard anything back. So for now, I'm working 2 jobs, almost 3 jobs if you count all the mandatory overtime. I hate American capitalism…
