It’s crazy to think that these companies make billions are we work so little. I am the lowest paid person at my store. My supervisor makes $25 a hour. He’s on salary so guaranteed 40 a week. Warehouse manager makes $15.I make $13.I work in the warehouse and a delivery driver. I was promised a .75 cent raise but never got it after probation. Every part I deliver my warehouse manager gets a commission % and my supervisor does to. Just work for everyone else to make money. I hate I can’t lie.I am 23 and man I need to find a job with a career if I am going to be a slave for everyone’s gain. I love my job but I hate that I really get nothing out of it. 🤦
I got suspended
So im from a latam country and i work as a delivery man for a rotiserie. What happend is that the main branch is closed cuz of repairs so most of the employees were relocated to another branch which is newest. The thing is that the boss didn't want to lose any money so he takes all the orders from our costumers from the main branch which is closed and then call to the new branch so they make the orders. Me and the others delivery mans got a lot more work cuz we have to travel about 10/15 more blocks than normal (we use bikes) for every order. You got to ad the fact that the guys that make the orders are not used to manage the amount of work that the main branch represent so all the orders are eather wrong or late plus the fact that the…
MY FIRST POST ON REDDIT! (Need Advice)
Good morning everyone. So I currently work for a small company that develops batteries and capacitors. I started as a machine operator for the company and worked my way up to be a assembly cell technician. As a assembly cell technician, I work with toxic chemicals and materials such as lithium. I received little training on disposing lithium and was given no information about the dangers of lithium besides “its dangerous, you can die from it”. I even had an incident where it burned my sinuses around october of 2021. I just recently was exposed to a chemical and wasnt equipped with the correct eye protection ( was wearing saftery glasses, company doesnt have goggles for us) and now my eyes have been feeling dry and abrasive for about 4 days now( I tried to seek legal help but no one is willing to listen to me unless I have…
General Union
I think what america needs is a General Union. Something litterally anyone can join. by joining youd sign a contractual agreement stating the following I will not perform scab work I will openly post my wage I will cooperate with strikes and youll abide by union rules for 3 months after deciding to leave the union (to gaurentee collective bargaining potential) in return they aid in collective bargaining rights for any buisness where they can effectively bargain (atleast 40% unionized) legal fee aid for employment related lawsuits and council of course this is just a broad idea and any actualization of this would need more thorough thought and probably a lawyer to look through it
Which means my usual ~25 hours per week will probably be slashed in half. I work two different jobs at the moment. This minimum wage one and my side job. I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and started working here as a stock gap whilst I look for a full time job. Still no progress, six months later. My manager knows that I have bills to pay yet doesn't give a fuck. We work very closely and he seems like a nice guy on the surface – by far, the most down-to-earth manager I've had. Yet there is no transparency in this organisation. We only found about the new starter today. How can people be so heartless? When you work your socks off everyday, have no sick days, always come in early, – this is the thanks we get? Fuck this company and its libertarian half-wittedness. No one cares…
Suggestion, please
I joined a new startup, they lowballed me compare to my previous offer, increased my workload by 3.5x, they gave me salary breakup first and work break up after 3 days, I am their first full-time employee, no ESOP or equity was given, Now after a week, I am demanding my original offer and not attending any work meetings altogether, till HR confirms the offer.w
I got laid off for the winter last October. It’s been eye opening to have the free time during the day to do what I like and be able to do my online courses at my own pace throughout the day. I got offered a full time 40hr/week 9-5 job recently. I accepted the offer and now I’m hating not having the time to do what I like. I have to leave the house by 8:30 and don’t get home until almost 6. That gives me barely any time to do what I want after eating and getting ready for the next day. I hate this system so much. I’m going to ask to go to part time or maybe even quit because this is awful.
I told my new manager no
I work as a software tester and usually take contracting gigs that last anywhere from 6 months to a year. I come in, help a team test some new big release they are working on then leave. Before that I worked as an automation programmer, usually with NUnit. I don't like the switch to point and click record your actions automation and refuse to use it, most are garbage but a lot of companies that know nothing about automation want some kind of automation as its the new buzz word and can save them so much time and money. So I start this new contract as a manual tester for an oil pipeline company. They already have two people trying to use Microsoft's launch and record automation and it's not going well. My idiot recruiter mentions to them I have automation experience after they ask him if he has anyone…
I'm leaving my job soon, hopefully within the next month at the longest. I started this position like 2 years ago as a lending originator for a big bank after working on a desk for a couple years. I was great at my job, like best in my market great, had my market manager fight to get me this job great, didn't need to interview with my current bosses boss like other people great at it… I came from another company alot of my Co workers had left to come here, they all failed and I succeeded giving about 80%… And I liked my job, because my manager let me do as I pleased as long as the numbers were up, she was happy and I wasn't being asked by her to do anything I didn't think was wrong. My dad tried to help me growing up with saving and…
