even Punjab did it…what’s your excuse?
My SO works for a hospital in Texas. All the healthcare workers just received an email from HR saying “…discussing pay is banned. It is not others interest nor business to know what any individual makes in this facility….” Is this legal to say in Texas? Advice? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I work as a nurse for the largest hospital system in my state. My unit practices mandatory overtime, which is basically where you are expected to stay 4 hours over your shift (totaling a 16 hour work day – 7 AM to 11 PM) on a moments notice. Usually this happens because they don’t have enough staff coming in for the night shift. If you refuse and go home, you receive a ‘point.’ 8 points gets you disciplinary action, 10 points gets you fired. (Mind you, you also accrue a point every time you call in sick.) This is my first job as a nurse, and it seems like mandatory overtime is a common practice for many hospitals across the nation. I know it is unethical, I just didn’t realize it was legal? Should I try to find a new job?
If there's one thing in this world I'm Sick of hearing, It's ignorant cuckservatives praising the us as being some bastion of freedom! If I had a million dollars for every time some ignorant, liver spotted, boomer cuckservative made a teary eyed speech about their nations “greatness” I'd be richer then trump! The usa is far from being free and great, it's a dying corrupt empire that leaches of innocent tax payers to fund its endless wars, and fascist polices. Calling this dying empire the “land of the free”, is one of the most ignorant things humanly possible! The us empire can steal your life savings with civil asset forfeiture as part of the racist war on drugs. They can take your home from you at any time with imminent domain, despite the fact they force you to pay taxes just to live there! The us workplace FORCES you to…
Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this position but I have always heard and seen people that carry on and on about how no one works anymore what happened to people contributing to society through labor? And blah blah. Yet when people do get jobs, those same people or people associated with them or like them will go out of their way to undermine everyone and anyone who holds down a job using every single excuse in the book for them not to work. This kind of stuff occurred in the school systems too, where you go to college/high school/ middle school the students tried to undermine you for no reason too. Even if you aren't going to their school anymore at all. Why do people carry on about a working culture then undermine it the first chance they can? Sorry but I am convinced no one…
I've asked my boss for a pay increase however he told me I cannot get one because others on my team may find out I'm on more than them. This translates to I can't get a pay increase because others on my team exist. It means my individual performance cannot be evaluated without considering the others on my team. What do you guys think about this? I'm severely disappointed. It's already infuriating enough to work in a job where someone else determines my financial potential.
I was thinking about this and it is actually crazy, that you are either officially employed, or you can apply for unemployment money (or maybe have your own company ofc, if you dare, which is even more risky and complicated). Both is regulated and controlled by the state … so if you do not have money to live and you do not get unemployment money nor have work, you can basically just kind of “die”. Ofc, you can probably get money from relatives or get food from helping organisations or get food stamps … but you are NOT ALLOWED to make money. You can't go to anyone and tell them, i do stuff for you, you give me money for that. That is called black labor, which many people do anyways, but it is basically not allowed and punished with fines, if they catch you. And i really have to…
I've got a really bad work history. Been hopping jobs for the last 4 years like a maniac because I had no direction, and I admit I was stupid. Now that I'm serious and want to change, it's too late – my CV is fucked, and I don't get any emails or calls for interviews whatsoever. I have taught myself all the technical skills necessary for the job that I want (software development) but I have never actually done it as a job. I've accepted I'm going to have to lie. So, how do I get away with it and not get caught?
First of: I am so sorry for the long post, I really want to get this off my chest, I've bugged everyone I know in my life enough about this. But I feel so defeated I had to spill it here on Reddit. So based on the title, I have been in the Film Industry since I was 18, but it has been on and off due to things happening in life. Recently, though, since last year I decided to take my passion more seriously. So I was able to write and starr in the films that my crew and I produce, and film. This is something we take very seriously, as a career. However, I have been working at this job since the end of 2019 and to be quite honest, Im so effing tired. Mentally and physically I am so exhausted working at my retail job. Because of…
