F** I Quit on Twitter
This is a great way to have the entire team quit. People aren’t required to give notice unless you’re under contract. You can leave whenever you want. I give this business three months left to exist. Max. pic.twitter.com/7limpUx5gf— Fuck You I Quit (@fuckyouiquit) April 21, 2022
I feel like the person this is about probably lurks this sub. If you are a gas station attendant and your name starts with a K and you wear a dope bow tie, then this is probably about you, but this is also for all the others out there who might be in this same boat… I wasn't lying in what I said to you – you are absolutely worth more than $11 an hour. You are a human with wants and needs which that job will never be able to fulfill and your boss has no interest in trying to ensure you are fulfilled. If I asked you to come clean my house for an hour and offered you $11 for it, I would hope you'd rightfully tell me to go fuck myself. Don't let them tell you to clean their house and make them their money and only…
Well which is it you jerks?
So I just want to complain about my life situation to some people that will get it. I'm 28. I graduated in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in physics, and currently I'm in a part-time MS in Astronomy. After college, I was living in the city that I went to school in. My parents helped me with rent while I looked for work. So I looked for work. And looked. And looked. I applied to hundreds of jobs, and only got interviewed with staffing agencies that couldn't place me, except for one interview for a position that got cut shortly after I interviewed. Finally I got a temp position… ten bucks and hour for two weeks of work at a college bookstore. Obviously, this wasn't enough. I applied to all kinds of positions, even service industry work, and heard nothing back. Sometimes I was lucky to get a “no” email…
Ignored by jobs
I’ll have many companies reach out and message me about an interview and then I’ll respond, sometimes having to reschedule to another day as I may have a doctors appointment, and they don’t respond back! It’s like companies have some upper hand of authorization to disrespect employees. Im here sitting and waiting while companies are ALLOWED to ignore you and not inform you anything but if you ignore a message from some company somehow you’re the unprofessional one. I hate this hierarchy bullshit and entitlement in jobs.
Minimum wage = minimum effort
After some ongoing issues at work, I’ve decided to become an under-achiever. If my boss expects more than my absolute bare minimum effort to get the job done, I’m gonna expect to get paid accordingly. I’m the newest employee at a small dog grooming shop after working there for 6 months. My boss recently hired another employee, a high schooler who can only come in after school. I offered to stay late sometimes to train the new employee in after closing duties as she comes in too late on weekdays to wash dogs. Anyway, this past weekend the new girl was washing a dog incorrectly and my boss noticed. She stormed back to me in the shop and bitched me out about “why isn’t she scrubbing/washing the dog correctly” and essentially complaining to me that no one at the shop does ANY dog correctly. I had hardly trained the new…
