Jumped through hoops to try for this job that had allegedly over 500 applicants. However, I had experience in the position and knew a lot about the company. First I showed up and my interview was canceled. I followed up and got crickets so I figured they just liked someone else since so many qualified ppl were apparently vying for this job. A month later a second recruiter from the co called and asked if I could interview that day or the next. Went to grueling 2 hour interview, of course had to take time off from my current job since it was so last minute. Was invited back to meet the corporate manager while he was in town on a visit the next week. Again, had to make up some BS to get off work early. We hit it off, this was another long interview that was nerve wracking,…

I had a call with a recruiter today about a possible job. It sounded interesting and definitely, something I would like to pursue further, so I sent them my resume for him to present to the CEO. The company is a Fortune 500 Media Company. I asked about salary range because I do not want to waste my time and he said they are open as they want to find the right person. This would be a completely new job for me (only using my skills I currently have but different line of work) and I do not have all the info yet as to what they would want in a candidate as that will be discussed in further interviews. I gave a figure of $120-130k range based on the info I had at the time (about 10-20K more than I make now) said but that once I know more…
One of my coworkers is a nazi sympathiser and I could use some ideas for dealing with him that preferably don't cost me my job.
Tenure = nothing
I’ve worked for the same company for 6 years now and have progressed through the ranks, I work hard and I give a damn about this company and the people I work with. Recently I had an opportunity to move into a much higher role for a big chunk more money. After completing the second round interview I was feeling confident, I have done the work before and I have heaps of people at different levels in the company that can vouch for my work. However apparently this all amounts to nothing and I didn’t get the job. Not even a call or email to say unsuccessful I had to check our internal company website to find out the application was flagged as unsuccessful. What a joke, what more can I do? How can some random external candidate get the role with no proven track record. So frustrating! Thanks for…
Long rant, sorry
TL;DR: my boss is either forgetful or neglectful, if not downright gaslighting. On Thursday, I had a meeting with boss (name redacted to protect me and them) regarding performance- have one once a month. Which she knows outright causes me great anxiety/ panic attacks. First thing they do is rant at me regarding what I said in response to what they said in a team meeting. Not even a “how was your day so far?” Nope, just a big “how do you explain saying x in this meeting?” I told the boss exactly what I thought, in that technically speaking they brought up pay / talking to HR support first. They yell at me again and say that no they didn’t say that. I quote verbatim what was said and then they yell at me again. I tell them another situation wherein I feel that I will forget a MANDATORY…
I don't even know what to do any more.
Being disturbed on your days off
Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop my boss constantly calling and messaging me when it’s my day off? My boss constantly messages me to do things during my days off, or if not my day off as soon as I’ve left the building! I usually get guilt tripped into working my days off due to short staffing. Im not paid any overtime due to my contract stating this and my position as higher management. when I refuse to go in, my boss gets arsey with me and says that we’ve fallen behind and I’ll have to stay later to finish it.
