Took a job for my mental health
I started a new job last month because the last one the hours were beginning to suck. It is important that my job also doesn’t affect my mental health too much as I’ve been struggling the last year. I like my new position so far and it is only a few miles down the road as my last one was almost half hour away. I took a slight pay cut but the hours are consistent and it has better benefits. One thing I find comical is how the boss will go off on his high horse at meetings how important our job is. I’m working in the recovery field so don’t get me wrong it is meaningful work but don’t preach how we are valued as workers when I make the same starting wages as McDonald’s across the road. Fair, but I'm also a responsible person, so I don't think that warning applies to me. Oh. By the way, employees will be given a laptop and they'll need to bring it home. Why? The owner wants employees to show initiative or else the owner'd assume they're doing nothing at home. I know some employers pull this schtick to 'scare…
