Might be an overreaction, but I found this recent text from my boss asinine.

How do you organize a Union?

I bartend at a corporate restaurant (in NC), and I’ve recently started talking to one of my fellow bartenders about unionizing. There’s just a few problems: I don’t really know where to start. We live in the dirty south, so it’s not like unions are the most widespread thing. I’m not really familiar with any organizations that help with this or anything. I’m scared I’ll lose my job if I start spearheading this movement. I enjoy my job, I just know there’s a few things that I’d like to change, such as hourly base pay before tips, but I know my voice alone doesn’t do much. I don’t hate my managers. I think they’re the most impressive group of managers I’ve worked for. They’re hands-on, knowledgeable, and professional. I have a lot of respect for them, so I really don’t want them to take this as an us-vs-them situation. It’s…

Business and professional references. If they can ask for them we should be able to ask for 3 previous employees whom quit the job recently to question if they’re being honest.

Domino’s $3 tip campaign?

Does this make anyone else angry? They give you $3 for “being your own delivery driver because every delivery driver deserves a tip”. They're doing this crap but still paying their delivery drivers $7.25/hour here.

They wanted me to “forget” 3 years of experience so they could hire me at a lower salary.

I'm a teacher looking for work in a new district. I have 7 years of experience and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I recently interviewed for a position and I felt it went really well. A few days later, I got a call and was told, “you're not our top choice, but you could be if you were willing to come in with only 4 years of experience.” I could not say no fast enough! This would be an almost $8,000 deduction in my annual salary and it also would have impacted my extra/co-curricular stipends (which would be based on my salary) shorting me over $10,000 annually. The posting said their ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience and a master's degree in either education or your content area. Yet, they're only willing to pay for 4 years of experience? There's already a teacher shortage- crap like this…

Leaving and need to maximize their pain

I had my review Wednesday and was told the only way I could get a raise in pay was to make more sales. I was hired in sales, but my responsibilities over the last year since my last review have grown to include running the shipping/receiving dept and doing all ordering and billing as well. My reply was essentially “that’s ridiculous I have less time to sell and I save you a salary doing it. Friday next would be my last day if I am not given a raise.” The VP replied with “Let me talk to owner and get back to you” The next day the VP was out with COVID. Turns out he had been tested Monday night, he didnt come in Tuesday, felt better Wednesday and had a meeting with me in a closed office, then got his positive result Wednesday night. I learned of this Thursday…

I am an employee in a large public school system. (Support role, not assigned to a school.) The NLRB website says it has no jurisdiction in Public Schools. Is there an organization that does?

https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/the-law/jurisdictional-standards Asking specifically because our boss told me we aren't allowed to discuss wages.

Just made $100 with $0

So for those that don't have context, I work as an armed security officer making $22 an Hour. one of the pieces of equipment I have access too is a POS Chromebook. Anyway, i decide I'm going to try an experiment between patrols. I've seen this talked about a lot on different YouTube videos and forums, but ive never done it myself. After hacking my way into admin access on this computer, I install Gnu image Manipulation Program, Or GIMP for short. I probe a couple of companies and see if they'd like a logo redesign. of the 76 people i sent emails 12 got back to me. Of the 12 who got back at me, 9 wanted logo redesigns. to my shock, they all agreed to my $200 price point. I just finished the last one. 8 have paid me, still waiting on the other. Those of you that…
