Uk, so castle makes more sense. It's a small castle to be fair. Just noticed my local castle has reported that they've already fully booked this year for weddings, events, garden parties and other gatherings. They're looking for volunteers to help with this busy period…… But seeing as they're local government run landmark they have to publish meetings and costings, etc. They have accounts estimating potential income. A wedding is £750 just venue. Extras (catering, marquee etc) push that to £1000. “Deducting wages we estimate an income 600 per wedding” So they account for wages, but want volunteers to run the weddings.
Anything else? A song and dance perhaps?
I had an interview at 10am. I drove 36 minutes to get there. It was good pay, better working hours, and the manager seemed excited about my resume on the phone. I get there at 9:50am. They said the manager wasn't in yet and they don't know when she gets there. I waited around until 10:04.. Then I left. nObODy WaNtS tO wORk. I just accepted a job at another place today. 3 minutes and I'm out…sorry not sorry. (If I really needed that job, I probably would have waited 30 to 45 minutes.) But I didn't.. How long would you wait? Edit: So I actually waited in my car while I was typing this for 50 minutes. I went back inside and the manager still wasn't there🤦️🤦️🤦️🤦️🤦️
Wage = “small part of a bigger package”
My boss took me out to lunch yesterday. The company is trying to hire another person for a different location and she was shocked when they held open interviews and not one person showed up. She said she was mad that HR put the hourly wage ($16/hr for a job that “prefers” a Bachelor's Degree) on the ads for the job because “the wage is such a small part of a much bigger package” and then proceeded to go on about how we have great benefits etc. While I wanted to scream I reminded her that “I get that we have decent health insurance, but also my bank does not accept Blue Cross Blue Shield as payment for my mortgage.” Wage should be a large part of the overall “package”. It's like… Why I drag myself to a pain in the ass job every morning. End rant.
