workman’s comp advice!
I got injured last Friday and I was told by a PA on Saturday to go forward with workmans comp because my injuries appeared work related. She did not give me any forms because that walk-in doesn't handle workman's comp claims. I took off work because I don't want my injuries to become worse or permanent, so I'm without work. It took a while of calling HR for me to get my claim number, then I had to call and call again to get information on who my adjuster is. I spoke to my adjuster, who said they'd make an appointment for me to be evaluated, but for right now the case is put on hold. I was told I won't be compensated for my time lost until I can be evaluated to determine if my injuries are workrelated. Should I go to the ER for imaging to speed this…
Workplace losing personal info
So I was on sick leave from work (retail chain clothing store) for about a week due to pregnancy related illness. I had a letter from my doctor stating my reasons for being unfit to work and the dates I would be absent,so after my doctors app I went into work and handed my manager the letter on the shop floor and told her I’d be back next week. Fast forward a few days and she calls me to tell me my letter has been ‘mislayed’ on the floor and could I give her my dates or leave again. Now this letter contains my name, address, social security number and personal information regarding my pregnancy and i’m honestly really annoyed about it and wondering could I go further and report this? If this was a genuine mistake I would let it go but my work place just doesn’t care about…

Left a job making $60k and more stress than I knew what to do with to make $22k with no stress and live on a 5 acre lot in a 3 bed house for $700 which I had budgeted for yet here I am with this inflation and gas prices struggling. Thinking of going back to a higher paying job and renting a room for $400 but I really can't go back to that kind of stress and depression its a tough call.
the system was created by people. the earlier a person gets into a system, the more influence they have inside of it. selfish people who entered into the system early were able to skew it in their favor and set it on that course for the future. those of us who come along later have a harder time working through the altered system because our struggle allows those who got lucky and got in early to continue to thrive
free market when it suits you
Why are gringos so against disclosure of wages but so in favor of free market? Here in Chile is not something that is talked much but in no way because of a corporate directive.
