IS this are some of the richest people in the world, they must have done something that benefited human kind in someway. New Job- Promised bonus but was denied
Started a new job was told in writing that would receive my bonus this year with lower salary since they weren’t able to give me the salary I requested. I accepted the offer, however just found out that I am not eligible for the bonus. I reached out to HR & recruiter and was simply told apologies for the misunderstanding but there’s nothing they can do about it basically. anyone knows what can be done here?
this is pretty ironic
Capitalism is brainworms
Had tickets for a concert Thursday night with one of my best friends and a first date scheduled for Friday, but wholeheartedly hoped that my Wednesday night covid test would come back positive so I could have guilt-free time off work. So, I got hired at this steel company doing admin work. I was part time, but they told me that after 3 months they'll make me full time. On my first day(this Tuesday) I was asking them about their future plans for the company and stuff(since they're a bit small). I asked them about benefits, the manager gave me the run around, and she also got defensive. So I dropped it. Fast forward to today, and they call me saying that I'm fired, because I keep asking about benefits(I asked once). Idk, I'm super frustrated right now. *edited

My partner works in a shop lifting heavy objects, and performing dangerous work. He got injured, and was out of work for around 2 months; while he was out, 5 of his regular paychecks were supposed to have been replaced by short-term disability. He started receiving checks (sort of) from SAIF, with weird promises attached that he would get the last check on the 20th, which would include 3 weeks of 2/3 pay. He finally returned to work, and when he got his first check there were massive deductions. Since he didn’t get paid by his employer for a few months, they didn’t deduct for benefits — and now they’re making him pay for check deductions that would have taken place if they had been paying him. I have never heard of having to pay your employer for times when you don’t receive checks if you have benefits. Is this…
