Whoops Starbucks Did It Again
Am I crazy? I feel like I just reached my breaking point. No kids but we’re still fucking poor, bills and rent in CA take all our money, and barely have enough for food and gas to get to work (not including student loan payments that I wouldn’t be able to pay if it wasnt paused.) We can’t buy basic household supplies, our clothes/shoes are raggedy and abused, all our hand me down furniture is breaking, our house needs constant maintenance the landlord won’t do and I am just so so tired of struggling I’m willing to go into bankruptcy just to feel a little relief. My stupid job only pays $18/hr and because we’ve been reduced to 1 car, my partner can only work PT on the weekend while I take the car for my FT during the week. Like we’re going into a BAD recession, the money isnt…

I never thought it would come to this as I despise lying and can’t think of a time when I’ve lied for my own benefit, however after months of searching and on financial hardships due to inflation/economy/low wages, should I just start effing lying during interviews and on my resume if I can get away with it? Over half the jobs I’m applying for I know I can either learn, figure it out in a week, or already know. I’m desperate, and it’s not like I’m stupid or not hard working. I can’t keep working two jobs especially now that I just got my BA. Look, I feel guilty even thinking about this, but I’m desperate and have been treated like sh*t/unfairly by recruiters and companies TL;DR: should I lie about experience and classes/education if I can get away with it since I’m beyond desperate?
There is no other way around it if you ask me. By socialism, I basically mean regulated capitalism because that’s basically what it is. Unlike the people who see the word and assume “communism” somehow Laws need to be placed for price gouging houses, paid time off, higher minimum wages, salary caps (because no one needs to be a billionaire or even have 500mil dollars, it doesn’t matter), and etc But I don’t think that’ll happen. Instead it will be continued to be framed as communism, officials will not have a back bone to act on it, and people who don’t have a clue will continue to vote for morons, and then when it finally snaps on itself it’ll be back to the same shit somehow blaming the other side of political parties instead of realizing rich assholes basically have their foot on everyone’s neck
Getting charged a “Tobacco Penalty”
Today when I got my paystub I noticed a new $28 deduction. Curious as nothing has changed for me in a while I discovered I am now being charged a $28 a pay period fee as a “Tobacco Penalty” from my work because somehow despite never having used any form of tobacco in my entire life and putting that on my benefits area when asked, I was suppose to take a blood test to confirm that. However no one bothered to tell me or provide any written information about this until I noticed this new fee and inquired about it. Absolutely furious now, not over the amount but over the whole thing. So now I have to wait another 10 months till open enrollment comes around and then take the blood test before they’ll change this. Honestly not even sure this is actually legal for them to do here in…
