Was terminated two weeks ago from a rising canes restaurant even though I had my absence reported and excused because I was recovering from food poisoning. Then this place also known as rising canes tells me when I call employee help that they had no basis to fire me I was nor even counted absent that many times. Screw it im glad I am out they always had me clean restrooms anyways. Try having a smile on your face when your workers treat your like some animal and you have to clean restrooms four hours a day.
Need Some Advise on Payment
I started my internship earlier this month (May 2nd) and I have worked M-F 40 hours a week. On my acceptance letter I was told I was to be paid $16 an hour and could not work more than 40 hours a week. Last Friday I was super excited about payday (poor college student) and it never came. I thought maybe I would wait until Monday (today). I woke up and nothing has been deposited so I reached out to HR. This is the email I received back: “The hourly employees are paid two weeks behind & we get 2 pays per month. Usually on the 15th and 30 or 31st of month unless it falls on a weekend. So, you started on May 2nd, you will get paid on May 31st for the time period of May 1st thru 15th. On the June 15th pay, you will get paid…

I started a new job as a part time WFH Executive Assistant working around 25 hours a week. It's for a small company where only the owner and I work in the office and we have a few guys in the field. I was hired to answer the phone, manage the company's CRM, do a few sales call a day, manage document filing/revising and general office duties. Part of why I accepted the job is because it required less of me than my previous positions, which made sense because it was only part time. Less stress, less money. Cool. Unfortunately, I'm starting to feel lied to and taken advantage of. My list of duties grows larger every single week. Every time I complete a new task I'm given multiple new responsibilities. I'm managing deliveries, I'm managing trade partners, I'm doing extremely complicated excel/powerpoint/word template creation from scratch, I'm managing time…

What kind of psycho parent would do that
Walked out mid shift
Worked at Lowes Home Improvement starting September of 2021. Starting pay was 13.80, which was low for the position I applied for. About 2 months ago, the unloading crew got a raise (my position). I talked to everyone on the crew, some were at like 15, a few at 16, and found out I went up to 14. Also found out a brand new hire, not 2 weeks in, was making 15. So I went and talked to my manager about it, and got the “I'll look and see”. After a few weeks of not hearing back, when I clocked in for my shift 3 weeks ago, I just said Fuck it. Grabbed my stuff, found the manager on duty, said I quit and walked out. Got an offer from their biggest competitor (Home Depot) for more than what I was asking for. Tbh walking out has a freeing feeling…
