A little rant about how terrible my job is.

I've worked for said company for 5 years. I have perfect attendance besides PTO which I am legally entitled to. I work 3rd shift industrial Maintenance technician for a medium sized injection molding facility. I work 6-7 days a week, with my longest streak being 123 days in a row. I have saved the company money by making numerous safety, material handling, and repair suggestions. My boss has praised me as one of his best Maintenance technicians. Now you're probably wondering, where is the rant? The company moves an employee from dayshift to 3rd. He was brand new and trained on days for 3 months. Once he got to 3rd shift he was given $20 an hour more than I currently make besides the fact I have more seniority and experience. Even worse, he clocks in, and goes home to bed, to return at the end of the shift to…

My boss worked all through his paternity leave

My boss (Mid-30M) has been on paternity leave for approximately a month now and he's been online/working almost every single day. Why?? He's not a director. He's not the ceo. Right now our team isn't even that busy. You can log off bro. Be with your new family. When I started working with this guy, I noticed he was ALWAYS online. Crazy hours like 530 am his time to 7 pm. Worked on weekends. Always messaging me at random hours, it makes me feel like I have to be online all the time as well. I like my time off, I like relaxing outside of work. Even if that just means moving from my desk to my couch! Anything that is just not. Work. I was hoping to get a little break while he was on pat leave but damn, couldn't even get that. Do you hate your real life…

Driving after being awake for 22 hours…

My boss refused to get me a hotel after I had been awake for 22 hours (working on a Saturday). For context, occasionally I work overseas to install company equipment. In this case, I was asked to catch a 6AM flight and return at at 11PM. I was asked to drive to the airport for 4AM, meaning I had to leave my place at 2AM. The flight returned around 12AM and I was expected to drive home after being awake for 22 hours. I felt awful the next couple of days and cannot comprehend how I wasn’t provided with somewhere to sleep before embarking on this ~50 mile drive. I am not familiar the the Employment Rights Act 1996. Yet I am sure that this is unacceptable conduct from my employer. Can someone please help me address this issue with my boss?

Dispensaries are a joke. (F21)

These company owners are destroying a beautiful industry that we fought HARD to have legal. I’ve worked at 3 dispensaries since turning 18, and let me tell you guys, this shits wrong. My first dispensary I was 19. I got paid $10 an hour. Part time. My roommate at the time had a bunch of medical problems, I woke up to the EMT crash team breaking down my front door, opening my bedroom door to find my friend dead on the floor. Like any traumatized person, I called into work. I got fired my next shift for abandoning my shift. When i was given my final check, it was 10 hours short. I showed them my hours I had worked, that I printed off from the scheduling site, and then showed them the BS paystub they tried to give me. They basically said fuck you. 2 years later I finally…

I have a lower salary than most of the people I manage

Hey everyone, This is a throwaway account because my friends and family know my other reddit. I suppose this is meant to be vent thread, but any advice would be greatly appreciated as well. I've been working at my current company for a little over two years now as a company manager. I help to manage the 15 employees that we have, I do the marketing and I run our financial reporting and planning. Since starting at the company I have helped to modernize the processes and overall make things more organized and efficient. I'll start off by saying that I make around $48K a year which is an average salary and I don't feel right complaining about it. However, I am frustrated that out of the 15 people I manage, 13 of them make more money than I do. At the lowest end, they make $10K more a year…

Boss cut my days from 4 to 1 because I wasnt improving on a position that i didnt even get hired for

I worked at tacobell from october to march. the first months were great the oay was good for what I was doing ($18/hr, cashier). Then all of a sudden they want me working on the line. Some times I wouldn’t know the ingredients to make things and they would get so mad even though I never got trained on it. One time i told one of the managers on shift “this is not even my position” and he goes “ then get back in the window” and made me cashout the whole night in december with 3 other coworkers there with my same position as punishment( in massachusetts). When school started up again my schedule changed for classes and I told the manager and she agreed then over the course of the next weeks i was getting in trouble with the other managers for not showing up for shifts because…

Walking out feels so good

Just a quick post to gloat about leaving my shitty hospo job like everyone else. I’ve worked a range of hospo gigs from family owned venues where they always gave us meals (and catered for EVERY allergy/diet) and took the health and well-being of all employees seriously, to places run by psychopaths and mafia leaders and greedy bosses, etc etc. Well when I walked into this place two weeks ago, it was the worst of all. The manager was a bitch. The venue was regularly patronised by gang leaders and in my five shifts there, two staff walked out mid shift to be let back the next day, 0 consequences. Before I told them I was leaving I flicked through the employee handbook that I was yet to sign, and there was a clause that states that if inadequate notice of leave was given, they would withhold your pay. I…
