I really just want to be successful and enjoy my life. I'm starting to get really depressed from seeing how successful my peers are. I can't help but feel like I have done something wrong. Is there even a labor shortage? I swear I'm applying to 10-20 jobs daily at this point. I have enough money to sustain “living” for a while so, what's the point?
Gen X and Remote Work
I know most boomers that have not retired want to seat in an office from 730am to 6pm god only knows why. I also know millennials hate the office which, to me, it makes perfect sense. Wondering though, how those grungey people that are stuck in the middle of these two generations feel about remote work and the whole “back to the office” bullshit. Thanks!
Something has got to give, man. Something, somewhere.
“Not filling this position anymore”
I live in one the most expensive counties in Colorado, and everyone is experiencing a staffing shortage. Everyone. I have had two rounds of interviews for two separate jobs in the past couple of months that eventually told me they were no longer filling the position. After telling me how desperate they were to have someone in to start ASAP. Both jobs cost me 5+ hours in resume editing, cover letter drafting, and stupid online applications; 4+ hours in interviews (plus time off work to get to them); and more than 3 weeks of waiting nervously just to be told they’re not filling the position. Whyyyy are these stupid organizations allowed to waste my time, money, and energy like this??
